Adolescent Suicide
Suicide is the third leading cause of death, which has tripled since the 1960’s-1980, between the ages of 15-24. Adolescent suicide, now being ranked third in the causes of death, has been very common in young youth today. Society likes to “down” suicidal people because from their perspective it’s the victim 's fault for the situation at hand.
Suicide differs between male and females. Girls think about/attempt suicide about twice as often as boys where boys follow through with the suicide about four times as often girls. Gender has a lot to do with suicide; girls like to take the clean version of suicide where guys go for a more gory scene. Statistics show that females that commit suicide normally take the clean way by popping pills or cutting themselves deeper than normal. When guys go through with suicide, they normally like to take a more lethal way by using: guns, knives, jumping off high places or hanging themselves.
Adolescents with mental health problems, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or insomnia, are at a much higher risk for suicidal thoughts. Teens going through major life changes or those who are victims of bullying are at greater risk of suicidal thoughts. Suicidal thoughts often happen after a stressful life event, but can differ between genders.
The most common reason for committing suicide is depression. Sever depression is often followed with a feeling of hopelessness and no escape. The thought and pain of existing suddenly becomes overwhelming and they begin to believe that people would be better off without the victim. Victims who suffer from depression often suffer silently therefore it is very important to pay close attention to our surroun...

It is important to keep lines of communication open at all times and to try and express your concern and love so that no one has to feel like they are going through something alone. A big thing to remember would be that if someone confides in you, take it seriously because you do not know how hard it was for them to openly do that. For a person that is depressed, 15% actually commit suicide.
The majority of suicide attempts are done to express extreme distress that the victim wants to be noticed, not done for attention. Suicidal people should not be left alone and should never be taken lightly. Suicidal attempts or conversations normally turns out to be the victims cry for help without directly saying they need help.
