Communication is useful to study because being able to communicate effectively is an important skill to have. Communication is an important process of transferring information (Fiske, J, 2010, p. 3). The most important components of communication are: the sender, the receiver, a message and the feedback. First the sender who is the person or entity that is sending a message with information. The receiver gets the message from the sender. After receiving the message, he or she tries to encode the message and prepares a proper answer which is called, the feedback (Fiske, J, 2010, p. 1-5). The ability to communicate well in all walks of life is very important, whether it be in social situations, in a working environment or through distant learning. Effective communication helps us better understand a person or situation and enables us to resolve differences, build trust and respect, including create environments where creative ideas, problem solving, affection, and caring can thrive (Dainton, M., & Zelley, 2011, p. 1-5). Communication may seem like a simple process to learn, but applying it in real life is hard to do, because most of what we try to communicate to others and what others try to communicate to us is usually misunderstood, causing conflict and frustration in personal and professional relationships (Effective Communications, 2013, p. 1-5). By learning these effective communication skills, you can better connect with your spouse, kids, friends, co-workers, general public, etc. By studying communication students are provided with knowledge on how to better use communication techniques to help them become better communicators or to improve on their communication skills, which they can use in their everyday lives whether it...

If we master communication we would be able to communicate to the people we are close with without hurting their feelings or having our statements sound insulting. In a relationship, having effective communication between one another is extremely important, in order for a healthy relationship to thrive. Without effective communication the relationship would not have a strong base. When communicating effectively with loved ones it is easier to overcome problems between each other. Without effective communications we would not be able to have relationships that last. Lastly, studying communication also helps us be better people, because it allows us to critically think about situations by analysing the facts and to get the best outcome out of a problem (Dainton, M., & Zelley, 2011, p. 1-12).
