Career Interest Deciding on a career has been a challenge. My first career interest was to be a physical therapist. As a child I would look at my mother-nursing textbook was intrigued by the muscular and skeletal systems The most intriguing part was how muscles, tendons, and ligaments all work to attach themselves to our skeletal system to create motion. My second career interesteas in mass communications. After only one semester I realized that I had no real desire to pursue a career in this field. The around the same time I was offered a promotion as the evening manager at my part-time job. I quickly change my major to business administration In hopes of becoming a hotel G. M. and completed my associates degree in business administration, but found that Hospitality industry was not a suitable career choice. All this time I was overlooking the one interest that had been present from the beginning. My career interest is information technology, specifically Network administration. At the age of 10 I had a huge interest and computers. I can remember getting my first computer. It was an Apple IIc. There was a game that I enjoyed playing on it, Wheel of Fortune, and one day as I went to insert the floppy disk and there was something preventing the computer from accepting the disk. I retrieved a screwdriver and proceeded to dismantle the computer. My mother walked in on me and was very up set about seeing the computer and it parts scattered about the floor. I assured her that I would have everything back together in no time. She stood over me and watched as I continued to look for the problem. I spotted the problem corrected it and put everything back together. From this point on I had more of an interest on how this machine works... ... middle of paper ... ...ters up to my high-speed internet connection. I have also net worked all three of my computers to print wirelessly to a central printer. I want to be apart of making sure that these networks weather big or small are setup and maintained properly. Information technology is a field that I am definitely interested in pursuing as a career. It is something that I have always had an interest in, but for one reason or another never considered it as a career interest. Until setting up the office network with my uncle. Once I complete school, I want to start an IT consulting firm with two other family members. One is already a network administrator and the other has a degree in marketing. Our dreams are to provide support for everyone from large companies to homes. My career interest lies very much in network administration. Now the next task is to complete my degree in BSIT.

You go three years of high school preparing for college and at the same time having fun. Until you are in your senior year of high school that’s when you realize and start asking your self what college do I want to go to? Or what college career I want to pursue? That’s when you notice you have but so little time to answer these questions. Me I’m in my last year of high school and I though I already knew what career I wanted to pursue, but its now that I notice that not even I know what I’m going to do with my life? All I’m sure of its that I’m going to graduate out of high school with a diploma and that I’m going to college. But what happens after that? What major did I study? Or where did I go to accomplish my goal?
We have all had that fateful question thrust upon us at some point in our life- “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Few realize the true magnitude of that question at such an early age. Truly, the reason for that is due to the fact that no one, at this point in life, interprets the question for what it truly means. “What do you want to learn in college? What path will you choose? What do you want to become and spend forty years, more or less, doing with your life?” Needless to say, it is anything but a minor decision. Picking a career is one of the most important choices an individual can make in life. It is extremely difficult to find a profession that provides a substantial source of income and satisfaction at the same time. Thus, my answer to that age-old question has been up for debate in my mind for a long time. Although the debate is ongoing, I have narrowed the field of choices somewhat. The careers that I am interested in are three very contrasting careers: A physical/occupational therapist, a multimedia artist/animator, and a college theology professor.
Deciding what career you want to partake in life is defiantly not a straightforward task. One has to choose something they love to do because, in most situations, they will be in that career field for the rest of their life. This is why it is very important to choose something that you love to do and have a passion for. If you treasure the job you have, then you will live a much happier life. In my case, I am deciding to go into the field of electrical and computer science because it is something that is close to my heart. It is also important when choosing what you want to do in life to set goals. These goals will help you to strive for something greater, and they will give you immense satisfaction once you reach them. Everybody has their
I have known from an early age that I’ve wanted to become a doctor. Helping people has always been a passion of mine. When I was younger, I wanted to be a veterinarian. However, after working with young children I have found that I love working with them, and have a connection with children. Currently, I am interested in becoming either a neonatologist or a general pediatrician so I can continue to work with young children.
This upcoming May, I will officially become a high school graduate. These next few months will fly by, and my collegiate journey will soon begin. As this time draws nearer, I can clarify that having to decide on what career path to focus on is incredibly overwhelming. Due to my sincere desire for learning and my drive to better myself academically, I plan on experimenting in multiple areas in order to discover which will suit myself best.
After taking the career interest profiler, I showed the strongest interest in enterprising and investigative (“Family Connection”). As I explored potential careers for myself, I narrowed it down to two career choices: a lawyer and a public relations and fundraising manager. After further research, I decided that the best career for me will be a public relations and fundraising manager because I am passionate about planning events and helping people, I possess characteristics vital for the career, and I am good at public speaking and writing.
My personal career goal is to do Information Technology (IT) and how I’m going to achieve that goal is by going to a community college to start off with and then go to a four year college. When I get my Bachler’s degree I will go further into my career into helping my job fix computers when they are broken down. The process of deciding to pursue a career as an IT was is an easy one, but that process has helped me define my career goal, be realistic about what I want, and plan thoughtfully about how to reach my goals.
I had a hard time finding a career. All the careers I came across did not interest me at all. Until a friend came up with the idea of the career of athletic training. That is when I started my research and my interest grew greater.
The career that interests me most is a Social Media Director. In being a Social Media Director, you help others build brand loyalty and create a larger market to further their Social Media status. It gives people a reachable platform to start a business and create blogs that can expand to bigger things. I’ve also been interested in Photography and Fashion but I haven’t stuck to it the way I do with Social Media. The reason being, that I spend a great portion of my life on Social Media. By me spending a lot of my time on Social Media it’s had a positive effect on my personality and has helped me expand my mind in ways other things haven’t been able to. This career fits in with my personal strengths because Social Media is constantly changing
Picking a pleasant and favorable career to pursue is hard. For someone who would like to impact peoples lives in different ways, a career in Medicine or some type of science or engineering might fulfill those needs. The work in these career paths can be very challenging and a lot of education will be needed to learn that trade. The work, once the job is taken, can be overwhelming or even hard sometimes, but it will all pay off in the end. The human race almost depends on these careers. More than half of these careers are high in demand and pay very well. Astrophysicists, software developing, and interior designing are three careers that are not only high in demand, but also very sophisticated in their work and have the potential to change lives.
Many things have lead up to my decision to choose a career in Information Systems. It started at my first semester at my local community college. I was enrolled in their graphic design program and most of the classes I was taking consisted of art classes. My first computer class was working in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. They are graphic programs that many graphic designerÕs use to make their design work. While working with these programs I was very intrigued by the power of computers and how they work. While going to school at the local community college I soon got a job at CitiMortgage working at the computer help desk. I was learning more about computers and networking which helped lead to my decision to change my degree of study to information systems.
My career choices have changed through the years from mother and housewife through architect, accountant, or teacher, finally I have arrived at a computer career. The following is an idea of the path I have followed.
