Stress on an individual can take a huge toll on their body and their mind, many don't realize there under stress until it starts affecting there everyday life, either at home or being at their job.
To start, one should look at the causes of why a person has been put under stress. There are many scenerios that induce stress on individuals, a main cause of stress amongst a vast majority of the world would have to do with their job. Clark states that computerization which is one of the more potent stress evoking activity on individuals at a job due to a manager keeping track of how well the person is performing using the computer and keeping track of everything one does (Charles S. Clark, par 7). Computerization can be a leading cause to stress. With the rise in technology people are being forced into using technology as part of there everyday life which can become extremely frustrating if the individual is rarely exposed to these devices. For example if you take a truck driver and put him behind a desk answering phones and using the computer, more than likely he will come across the challenge of using the device to perform at optimal speed but due to having no experience this task could be overwhelming. David Dinges claims that individuals who work night shift jobs like police officers, teens, nurses and those who use sleeping pills are the main group of people suffering from sleep deprivation which is followed my stress on the person (David F.Dinges). Police officers and nurses are highly susceptible to stress induced by being deprived of sleep. Trying to correct it with sleeping medication or medication to wake you up also add to the stress of a late night job. Nurses especially have it hard worrying about all their patients m...

...cate many situations in ones life and bring about new problems an individual will face as part of there everyday adventure. Sleep deprivation and the rise in technological needs are the main causes to why people have extreme stress. The working class and the younger generation can limit these stresses by watching their computer and phone usage and maybe finding a job that provides better hours for your sleep schedule. As a wise person once said “Its not stress that kills us, it is our reaction to it “ (Hans Selye).

... well as other stress-related disorders, can lead us to answer questions about what happens to our bodies in times of stress and how we can learn to manage our stress and calm ourselves down. While we may desire to stay young forever and live carefree in the neverland, stress is not the fairy dust necessary to go to the second star to the right and straight on 'till morning.
We experience stress almost every day, we live with it, but it also can be seen on us. The influence of stress is too effective and big to ignore it. If we pay attention to it we can avoid those mentioned above. In the fast-paced world we should be careful about our lifestyle and care about what and how we do.
Everybody has at least one thing in common. Can you guess what it is? If you guessed, heartbreak, you’re right, but that’s not the answer I’m looking for. The correct answer is stress. Everyone has stress in his or her life at one point or another. It’s one of many inevitable parts of life. Whether it’s busting out a research paper for Psychology at the last minute, expecting your first child to be born, to making sure you’re up in time to catch the Saturday morning cartoons, it’s clearly evident that everyone goes through stress. The real question is, how is stress handled in our society? A person is defined by how they handle the stressors in their lives and how they overcome stressful moments. This paper will explore the aspects of stress management; hoping to help others in their times of stress.

Stress once served as a lifesaving response to threatening events such as being hunted by a predator or hunting prey. The stress response helped our ancestors survive and stress provide important benefits, muscles are be primed, attention is focused, and nerves are ready for action, all of which give us the capacity to fight or to run away from danger. While stress once served a role in our ancient lives, the effects of stress in our modern world take a toll on our bodies and health. The impact of stress can be seen in all major systems of the body, while it may be impossible to avoid stress, there are steps people can take to reduce the negative impacts of stress.
Many people think of stress as a simple problem. In reality however, stress is complex and often misunderstood. We all know that stress is the body’s reaction to any demand on it. Perceptions of events, whether positive or negative, activate stress. It is, therefore, a highly individual affair. What is stressful to ‘X’ may not be so to another. But it is fairly easy to conclude that everyone lives under a certain amount of stress. In fact, the only people without stress are dead. At the same time it is certainly wrong to conclude that stress is always bad. Mild stress may improve the productivity. It may force people to focus more sharply on the problem and produce solutions. But if stress is severe and persist for long periods of time, it can be harmful. Stress can be disruptive to an individual as any
Stress is unavoidable. It comes in many different forms and affects every person differently. Depending on personality and outlook on life, a person’s response to “…stress can be a neutral, negative, or positive experience” (Stöppler). Most people don’t know the proper way to handle stress, so they wish that they could avoid it all together. However, once the proper way to cope with stress is learned, it can be a positive experience in everyone’s life.
For most people, the year just began and activities are still a bit low key especially as we are just coming in from the festive season. Before the end of January though, we would be right back in the middle of work routine, family routine and/or household routine. And then anxiety sets in; but anxiety is good.
Life is full of obstacles and has shown people that stress is very common and a part of life. When you are running around all the time like you are in an emergency mode, your body will pay the price. What some people do not know is that stress can actually be helpful and can cause a positive effect on you. It can serve as a motivation and be useful under pressure. Without stress, our lives would be boring and pointless.
When we think about stress affecting individuals, various images can come to mind such as the single mother working two jobs in order to keep food on the table, the father who just lost his job and has a mortgage along with other bills, the teen who is pressured under cultural norms and wont be true to himself, or the fulltime student who is working part time in order to pay his/her college tuition.
Overall, no matter what category we put stress in, it is always going to be a part of our lives. Either as a motivator or as problem that gets in the way. Cataclysmic events, personal stressors, background stressors, they are happening all around us and the only thing we can do is cope with it all. Once we know how stress affects us in our relationships and everyday lives the easier it is for us to cope with it all.
Despite that many don 't realize the dangers, stress is one of the most significant problems of modern times, causing serious problems on physical and mental health. Stress symptoms may be affecting a patients health, even though a doctor may not realize it. Don 't assume that an illness is to blame for that excruciating headache or your sleep deprivation. Let 's face it, everyone copes with stress. Sometimes stress is in our favor, but other times it could feel like stress is taking over. " Stress is a normal physical response your body uses to protect itself from challenges life throws at it each day"(Stress and Health: How Stress Affects Your Health) Stress affects everyone differently, so it 's important to understand what may be causing
Stress is defined as “any circumstances that threaten or are perceived to threaten one’s well-being and thereby tax one’s coping abilities” (Weiten & Lloyd, 2006, p. 72). Stress is a natural event that exists literally in all areas of one’s life. It can be embedded in the environment, culture, or perception of an event or idea. Stress is a constant burden, and can be detrimental to one’s physical and mental health. However stress can also provide beneficial effects; it can satisfy one’s need for stimulation and challenge, promote personal growth, and can provide an individual with the tools to cope with, and be less affected by tomorrow’s stress (Weiten & Lloyd, 2006, p. 93).
Stress is an ongoing dilemma that occurs in each and everyone’s life. It is a factor that is undoubtedly a part of daily living. Due to the trivial problems that occur in people’s daily lives massive amounts of stress can arise. People perceive and manage stress in many different ways. The causes and effects of stress are numerous and one’s ability to manage stress is vital in maintaining healthy living.
With the prevalence of society, the rhythms of modern life is becoming faster and faster. Many people suffer a lot of pressure from work, study, family, and society, all of which lead to stress and strain of life. Therefore, stress is everywhere and it has become
