Stress Carruthers and Hood mentioned in chapter 5, that avoiding stress is avoiding life, due to the fact that without this phenomenon in our life, we will be in limbo. What gives flavor and reason to live is all those constrains that derive from our daily routines. Stress is an integral part of our lifestyles, due to the ever changing or our existences. Then, without stress we have no opportunity to live and enjoy our lived to their full potential. Moreover, stress is only malignant when its levels overwhelm and defeat us. Small amount of stress can even work as motivators to enforce us to study, complete our workload, and work hard to achieve our goal. Moreover, there are two terms close related to stress. There are: esters, which is a positive form of stress and distress, which is the negative form of stress. On one hand, esters motivates us to focused our energy and hard work toward fulfilling short term goals in a positive manner. Moreover, it cannot exceed our coping ability and to reduce its levels we perform and improve our performance as workers, students, or simply human beings living. On the other hand, distress causes us concern and anxiety. If we do not deal with it, it might reduce our performance, cause physical; and emotional damage. Its effects are frequently devastating.
