The Pittsburgh Steelers have many strengths that separate them from their competitors in the National Football League. Strengths are what give drive to the fans, players, coaches, and other members of the organization to continue the success of the past as the organization moves into the future. Some of the main strengths of the Steelers’ organization are winning, stability, location, and the fan base. Many other strengths stem from these four core strengths, all of which help to validate such an established organization.

Pittsburgh is known as a sports’ town that gets behind their three teams. Being located in Pittsburgh, the Steelers use one of the main companies in the city for the stadium name, which is called Heinz Field. The location allows for many local sponsors to get involved with the team, while, at the same time, it creates business for the stores and restaurants around the city. In 2010, Forbes rated Pittsburgh as the most livable city in the U.S. (Levy). This gives incentive to players to feel comfortable once they begin to raise a family while playing for Steelers. Likewise, this also gives the Steelers an edge in signing the free agents that they prefer. When discussing Pittsburgh, Wendy Hermann, director of student services for master’s programs and a Pittsburgh native states, “And it’s an easier sell, now that the Steelers and Penguins won their respective titles” (Levy). The Steelers give to the community, and in return, they get the unwavering support of from loyal fans. Strengths of the team itself are mainly on the offensive side of the ball. The Steelers have two-time super bowl winner Ben Roethlisberger as the starting quarterback that gets the offense to where it needs to be. Ben has help from Pro Bowlers, Antonio Brown and LeVeon Bell. While these three men are known as the “Killer B’s,” a fourth rising star also fitting with the “B’s” is Martavis Bryant.
