The main discussion discussed was strategic. It involved the internal operations of a firm, where the business will break through costs, major in cost differentiation and product leadership. The decision made focused on how the firm planned to outdo the rivals in the industry, by doing the same activities in a different way. It centered on performing activities in a way that will ensure that the business profitability rises. The key decisions were made at the formulation stage by the middle level managers. This is the stage which formulates and implements most decisions in the organizational management pyramid.
Question 2 Strategic matter will be more of availing management skills to me. The previous course only majored on general management of the organizations, and the operations that take place in the organization. However, in this course, several skills related on how to venture in a competitive industry and carry out top level management is taught. The course equips the learner with knowledge on how to carry out operational efficiency and manage to lower costs, better production, and widening or expansion of the business. Simply stated, strategic level management course is detailed and more concerned with formulating decisions that form the basis for a business operation.

In such firms, the firms have short term goals, objectives and considerations. Despite having these fundamentals for a strategic plan, the organizations fail to develop a strategy and only work towards achieving their goals, and objectives. Once they achieve their goals and objectives, they become successful. Basically, the organizations or firms have a plan, which is not a strategy, by definition and practice.
