Concepts of Strategic Leadership
Strategic leadership is defined as the act of creating direction, alignment, and commitment that is required for achieving the enduring performance potential of an organization. Strategic leadership involves movement that is adaptable, has successive systems that can be duplicated in such a way that the organization continuously learns, and enhances its capabilities in a way that includes a change with the goal of achieving a long-term success which is valuable to all the stakeholders that are concerned. The Bible states, “where there is no vision, the people perish..." (Proverbs 29:18, KJV). Hence, Strategic Leadership needs to give vision and direction for the future success of the organization (Hughes, Beatty, & Dinwoodie, 2014).
Good strategic leadership has the ability to motivate followers and provide confidence for the future of the organization if the leadership is able to persuade their followers in a way that has explained their reasoning properly.
