Stop Police Brutality
On August 9, 2014, Unarmed 18 year-old Michael Brown’s life was taken by police officers. He was shot 7 times, the last shot to the back of his head is what took this young man’s life. He was a young unarmed black male. Just in 2014 over 1,000 people were killed at the hands of police officers. However, even though police say they are just doing their job, police should not be able to abuse their power, because more cases of police brutality are being captured on cell phones and innocent people are being killed.
How you become an officer is by obtaining the Necessary Education. A high school diploma or a GED is typically the minimum level of education needed to become a police officer, Submit an Application to a Police Department, ,Graduate from a Police Academy Training Program, Actively Work to Obtain Promotions. A police officer, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the common duties of a police officer include patrolling designated areas, enforcing laws, answering calls for help, arresting individuals suspected of committing crimes, issuing citations, testifying in court and conducting traffic stops. Every Officer has to take an oath before beginning their career in law enforcement to set a good structure of what they are there to do.

We live in a world where there is probably a camera on every corner. Technology has helped a numerous of times with reporting the abuse by having digital evidence to back up your report. Almost every cell phone is equipped with a camera. You as a citizen have the right to record any encounter with law enforcement. Most of the time an officer would tell you that you can 't record them, which is a lie and are only trying to protect himself from getting caught.
