It is my attempt in writing this paper to formulate a recruitment plan and a staffing strategy that can be used throughout the next 3 years in Coffee Couture. A communication message will be created in order to attract potential applicants and several examples of how this message will be communicated will be given. I will explain the best medium for getting the message out to the masses and observe why this particular method will be the best option for the business. The selection process will also be discussed in this paper and I will give the advantages and disadvantages of the chosen method. This last portion of this paper will explain how certain predictors can be used to assess KSAO’s that will be needed for the job.
It is my belief that when it comes to recruiting for the coffee shop that several parts must be taken into consideration. For instance you will have to take a look at the destination where the coffee shop will be placed and the atmosphere that you want to present. In this case the destination is on a college campus so you know that there will be a large influx of students, professors, managers, supervisors, and etcetera from the campus and all other locally surrounding businesses. We know that the campus will be our main focus so now we have to get potential applicants to come.
First we will have to create an atmosphere where employees will want to come and work. This means that the décor of the shop has to be appealing to the eyes. This includes adding warm colors such as browns, oranges, yellows, and reds. Paintings are also a big eye-catcher but you do not want to be too overwhelming. ...rential than those who lack in these areas. All skill predictors will be defined in the job posting and in the initial interview. The candidate will be given the opportunity to discuss these skills and any concerns that they may have during and any time after the process is over. Being able to match the KSAO’s of the job with the experience of the candidate will make the selection process easier. This will help to solidify that the accurate choice of employee has been made.
If this recruitment plan and strategy is properly implemented then I see no reason why Coffee Couture will not be a success. It gives a clear outline of what is expected and what will be given to the right candidate for the position. It also gives several proven successful mediums for attracting applicants. There is always room for error but this plan seems to make that room very small.
