Which one is more important, Grades or life? Recently, I read an essay called “This I Believe” by Ying Ying Yu. The essay talks about ying ying yu life when She was a 13-year-old who immigrated to the United States with her family. She was also an obedient child that cared about her parents, teachers and country and made them her higher priority in life. Ying believed that her duty is to get good grades and become a lawyer to repay her parents and teachers for the time that they spent in building her educational foundations. Ying believed that her duty was moving her and pointing her to the direction of being a lawyer. Personally, I believe that Ying is missing the whole purpose of life. She should be free to choose her way of life and don’t feel governed by her parents teachers or country.

The child-caregiver relationship is a key element in healthy cognitive development, and has a lasting impact on the child’s life. Through this positive relationship the child learns and cultivates their understanding of people and the world around them. These experiences will help determine the level of motor skills, visual skills, and learning abilities that a child will possess in their future. A responsive caregiver provides the serve-and-return interactions a child needs to develop healthy brain circuitry. A healthy example of serve-and-return is when an infant babbles and gestures to an object, the caregiver responds accordingly by smiling and naming the object. This interaction lays the foundation for creating a link between the object and the word. As children age they learn about cause and effect, spatial relationships, problem solving, number sense, and classification. They learn these skills through the use of symbolic play and imitation.
I had performed extremely well in my calculus 1 class and had over a 100% in the class. I had aced the previous two exams and felt confident about optimization, which the next exam was over. I studied for close to 60 hours over two weeks for the exam and had gone over the previous exams and homework from the section. I ended up getting a 72% on the exam and once I looked over it realized that the problems I had gotten wrong were over minimization and not maximization. After looking over the questions and doing corrections I could not believe I got such easy questions wrong.

It tends to influence its audience no matter the time period; whether it was written in the middle ages or in the millennium. Literature offers something that is ageless and always applicable. It is a story with an agenda to teach its audiences. This is a very bold claim to make about writers, and obviously should have some solid evidence to back it up. However, contrary to what one might think, Lamott has little to no “real” evidence to support her statements. Instead, she uses humor and sarcasm to cover the fact that she has no real support for her views. By doing this, Lamott lacks much of the credibility (usually) needed in a rhetorical argument, and her humorous tone does not suffice for a convincing argument. Gay-headed families, like heterosexuals, are diverse and varying in different forms. Whether a created family is from previous heterosexual relationships, artificial insemination, or adoption, it deserves the same legal rights heterosexual families enjoy. Full adoption rights needs to be legalized in all states to provide a stable family life for children because sexual orientation does not determine parenting skills, children placed with homosexual parents have better well-being than those in foster care, and there are thousands of children waiting for good homes.
