The purpose of this report is to explain the arguments for and against software piracy. Software piracy is a major problem, mainly to the businesses that develop and market software on a global scale. Software piracy is illegal copying or redistribution of software that doesn’t belong to you. Illegal copying of software is called piracy.
You might be thinking, why does this affect me? ...ake into consideration the developers that have spent hundreds of hours building the software.
If companies want to battle software piracy then they will need to start by setting up a DRM (Digital rights management), after they have this enforcement in place then they can start setting up DRM strategies that will protect their company and its products against software piracy.
Software piracy also has its economic arguments against software piracy, because companies are losing profit and when they lose profit they can’t invest in themselves, which then brings the company downhill and on its way down jobs are being lost which causes the unemployment rate to slightly increase.
