Socioeconomic Disparities is one of the biggest issues in the community. But this is not the end, there are some legal interventions in the united states that’s helping address this issue by taking small urban communities and trying to solve their issues. Step by step everyone can make a difference and Socioeconomic disparity can disappear. This essay will give an insight about what social work does and how they use legal intervention to help the communities. In this case it’s to meet the health and legal needs of the community. Legal Intervention has been helping the community since 1992. Judith W. Ross stated, “ in 1992 reported that social work intervention reduced repeat utilization 28 percent among older adults with mental health or social health problems who relied on the ED instead of seeking mental health services.”(page. 1 Effects of social work intervention). Many nonemergent utilized the Emergency room for health issues instead of going to see a physician. But this produced so many issues for example, a child each time goes in the ER for a health issue will very likely see a different doctor and the doctor doesn’t have the child’s medical records. In this case doctors tend to focus on the treatment for the immediate need instead of asking parents who did the child see before and what are they taking, etc. Social work intervention’s have reduced the number of people who go to the ER for small medical conductions and to help improve the health of those people. In addition, legal interventions can help so many communities specially the ones in urban space. Social work has used a broad range of interventions such as speaking on behalf of clients in court and many places, helping clients find the resources they need, helping them to understand and learn how to improve their
