For the purpose of this paper the social worker interviewed is Ronnita Waters, MSW, RCSWi; she is currently an operations manager at the Center for Family and Child Enrichment (CFCE). The issue or area where her advocacy skills are practiced is within child welfare. Additionally, I now know the difference between a social worker generalist and a social worker that wholeheartedly advocates on behalf of their client. As social workers we must remain current with not only policy but research to better serve our clients. Interviewing Mrs. Waters and hearing how she ascended so quickly to the role of an operation manager correlates to what is being lectured in our leadership, advocacy and policy practice course. And the fact the she missed some policies is understandable and it allowed me to dive into literature regarding policy and child welfare.
