Social Process Theory
Social Process and Crime
In the social process theory, three areas are covered. The three are social learning theory, social control theory, and social reaction theory.
The definition of the social learning theory is People learn through observing others’ behavior, attitudes, and outcomes of those behaviors. “Most human behavior is learned observationally through modeling: from observing others, one forms an idea of how new behaviors are performed, and on later occasions this coded information serves as a guide for action.” (Learning Theories Knowledgebase ). Most people learn through watching other. As a child, we learn by mocking what we have observed repeatedly. This is how we learn to walk, talk, speak, and to feed ourselves. We also learn social skills from the people around us. We learn right from wrong, we learn what is acceptable in our everyday lives. We also learn societal norms. Most children learn social norms from the family structure. If the family structure is broken or not complete it may cause problems for the children. If the family has only one parent then the family unit suffers. If the child is part of a family that has deviant problems then the child learns that these problems are the norm. This could lead to the child to think that drinking or drugs are normal. It is also a factor if the child observes crime in the family unit. The child learns that crime is normal until they run up against society who states otherwise.
Another factor in the development of children is the education that they receive. If a child has a good experience in school, they will come out a better person. If the child has antisocial behavior, the experience in school may make that behavior wor...

They do not have the fight in them to reverse the label and therefore believe that the label is true.
In the end, the Social Process Theory shows a relationship of deviant behavior and how this behavior is learned. It also shows how people react to social norms in a community. Then people are labeled and respond to those labels if they cannot rise above them.

In today’s society, individuals have a propensity to follow the ideas of others rather than create their own. Our society will not wear any article of clothing that is not in style or approved by their peers are even are scared of what others may say or think about them. Today’s Classrooms are filled with children who are too concerned, or terrified of being wrong and rather choose not to raise their hands in attempts to answer a question or even read a book aloud to the class for fear of someone making fun of them. When a student or two finally muster up the courage necessary to raise their hands in efforts at answering a question, eventually other fellow classmates will begin to follow. This is what Social Learning Theory entails.
Social process theory views criminality as a function of people's interactions with organizations institutions and processes in society. Social process theorists believe that children learn to commit crime by interacting with, and modeling the behaviors of others they admire or respect. Social process theory focuses on upbringing and socialization, which stems from parents, peers, or teachers (Siegel, 2011, p. 13-14).

Intelligence, behavior, and work ethic are just a few examples of how the nature or upbringing of a child can affect them in an educational setting. Whether they are born intelligent, polite, and determined, or are raised to be something completely opposite, depend on their nature and their nurture. If schools could find a way to influence their students in a positive way during early stages and life, they could possibly nurture them and create better lives for these
The stand or fall of social environment has a strong impact on the formation of a child’s behavior. Wes P had begun selling drugs, which was making him plenty of money. He explained his cash flow and expensive purchases by telling his mother he had become a successful DJ in the neighborhood. “ Tony found his younger brother and asked for an explanation for the learning tower of Nikes. Wes stuttered out a story: he’d became a popular DJ and was making incredible loot DJing parties.”(69) While Mary believed him, Tony did not. One day he came by the house and noticed Wes P’s room had changed a lot, and a tower of new shoe boxes convinced Tony that Wes had gotten into the drug game. Under the influence of society and vanity, Wes P chose a wrong to making money to sell drug. Throughout the current juvenile crime is visiting trend and the situation of the children more and more to discipline. I believe that in addition to the existing school education way and the modern social development also does not adapt and family education also has a larger error, largely due to social bad education caused by environment factor. Society environment is also equally important, and a good society environment is more conducive to the healthy growth of children, but no more important than family and school environment to the
Throughout history, man has been trying to explain man’s origin, purpose, and identity. By trying to figure out these difficult questions, many have come to the realization that either man is either theistic and believes there is a God and a supernatural presence or that man is atheistic believing that there is not God and rejects the supernatural. Because of this man can choose either of those world views. If they in fact choose the atheistic worldview they in turn will turn to another belief or set of values that reject the supernatural and replaces it with another aspect of life. One of those alternate philosophies would be process philosophy. Process philosophy is the belief that reality and life is not fixed or absolute meaning that everything within reality has the ability to change and progress as time continues on. Process philosophy has had a great effect on American society involving civil rights. Within the past century many changes have occurred including: voting and equal rights for blacks and women and rights for those who are homosexual. These rights are direct examples of process philosophy working to its fullest extent within American society.
Social cognitive theory (SCT) involves four key components: reciprocal interaction, enacting learning, vicarious learning, and modeling. Despite Ann, the English teacher in the video, may not know what SCT is, she does apply the theory to her teaching strategy.

Social theories provide us with a new perspective in the social world. With new perspectives, new opinions can be made. also, they can provide answers or explain a specific social spectacle. Social theories can help clarify and predict the way the social world works. The three major sociological perspectives are functionalism, the conflict theory, and the symbolic interaction theory. Each theory is different and can help answer many questions about human behavior in a social world.

The education system and the peer group within the school system are important socialisation agents in an individual’s life. Children from an early age absorb the values, attitudes and beliefs of the society in which they participate (Ashman & Elkins, 2009).
People also were tired of criminals trying to blame the society and not taking their punishments for committing the crimes. The Social Process Theory also explains how a person can get involved in crimes from their surroundings. Being social is great, but sometimes the wrong company can cause a lot of problems. Not all the time a person is involved in a crime because of their social life. Committing a crime is by choice; no one can make a person do anything
Social cognitive theory is the study on how an individual stores, processes, and applies information about others in their everyday life.
