Social Networking can be defined as the online grouping of individuals into a formalised community, the most common approach for online social networks are through websites. Most social networks will have a theme or niche associated with the website; meaning users share common interests via video games, sports, religion, fitness; these Social Networks can be described as a “social hub” for individuals with shared interests. Becoming a member of a Social Network provides you with your own personalised page, interaction with other members, discussions on a given topic and more dependent upon on the site. Social Networks such as Facebook, Classmates and Twitter are known as “traditional” Social Networks as they do not cater to individuals with a certain interest.
• Differentiate between Social Network and Social Media
Many use the term Social Media when they are actually referring to a Social Network the two are actually quite different. Lon S. Cohen provides an explanation of the two from his blog. “Social Media can be called a strategy and an outlet for broadcasting, while Social Networking is a tool and a utility for connecting with others.”
Social media is more akin to communication channels, it can deliver a message through television, newspaper or radio. Simply put, Social Media aims to deliver information to others, examples are YouTube, Bodbean and blogs. Social Networking can be defined as an act of engagement with groups of individuals with a common interest, members can associate and have discussions upon a given topic and build relationships through a community. Social Networking examples are Facebook, Linkedin and Pinterest.

In order to deter computers from signing up to the site, the CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Human Apart) technique can be implemented into the registration to ensure only humans sign up. This technique involves a response test in which the user must type out the letters or numbers shown in an image; usually the characters in the image are distorted and designed so a computer cannot read them. This technique can be implemented by storing the CAPTCHA phrase in the users session, when the users completes the registration form and CAPTCHA field, the values inserted into the CAPTCHA field and session must be the same for the user to continue.

Social Media is a buzzword showing up everywhere, but what exactly is it? It can be defined as a website, that does not just give information to the user, but lets him or her interact with the website as well. Instead of it being a one-way street media outlet like the traditional newspaper, it is a two-way street that enables the user to communicate as well. Merriam-Webster defines it as: “forms of electronic communication (as Web sites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (as videos)” (Merriam-Webster, 2014). Examples for social media are YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, Instagram, and many more.
Social media is an electric media application that can use everyone to communicated and make a socialitation to someone that we want it. Social media also one of the most important part to do a communication. It can use anytime and everywhere if we want to use it. Social media including use as the most important communication tool that always used by humans.
