Social Networking Communities Social Networking has become a really big trend in our time. Most people think social networking sites are bad for teens. Teens all around the world can connect with each other using the internet for communicating through social media. Talking with people you don 't really know is a bad thing because they are complete strangers. I feel like we should not encourage our teens to join social networking communities because they may have a hard time picking up with face to face conversations by not spending face to face bonding time. There are some advantages of social networking communities one of them is making new friends. Most people in the U.S.A use the internet for meeting new people and communicating
You never know the person that 's on the other side of the screen that you are on and you really don 't know what other people on the internet are capable of, there are real life hackers out there that can also gather your information somehow. I have been DDos (Denial of Service) before by other people from the internet and never even knew what was going on or why this was happening to me. This is when people on the internet get your IP address and send attacks to the modem or router through your IP address so you have no internet connection. for a while. This has happened to me several times on a certain video game I was playing on the PlayStation
Some teens are really disrespectful when they get on the media especially when they are talking to someone they have never met or talked to before. They tend to act hard and most teens would never walk up to someone in person and disrespect them. For example, If I 'm online and some teenaged kid decides to start calling me names that 's because he is hiding behind internet, this kid would never talk to me the way he talks to me online if we ever met in person. This is because teens are feeling to comfortable and think they can do and say whatever they want. Another problem that I see on social networking communities is violence with teens on social media. There are many fights that teenaged kids post on social media that you can watch and some videos uploaded may even be posted by someone you know but they may choose to make a fake profile and stay anonymous.. I think social media is making kids too comfortable with hiding online to where they feel they can do anything. There are even some teenagers teaching their self how to hack with the use of
Teen are being slain by cyberbullies everyday. Not all social media is good for teens. Even no social media is better. Almost every teenager has a cellphone or some sort of device that lets them check their social media. Many websites like Facebook, Instagram, and snapchat are bad and can cause teenagers to do bad things to themselves or other people. Banning social media will make teens have better grades, be more safer, and have more self confidence with less depression.
“One day recently, Cynthia Newton’s 12-year-old daughter asked her for help with homework, but Newton didn’t want to help her, because she was too busy on Facebook. So her daughter went upstairs to her room and sent an e-mail asking her for help, but Newton didn’t see the e-mail, because, well, she was too busy on Facebook.” This unusual action, by a is from one of typical moms in this nation is excerpted from an article titled, “Five Clues…Facebook” from CNN. As the social networks system have s become rooted into our society, people have become way different from the past. As soon as Facebook came out in the world,When Facebook appeared, people were fascinated by it, and it grew as theinto the most massive, powerful social network that connects the wholein the world. Since the birth of Facebook, a majority of people became so addictive to it [D1] as Newton acted; so, what draws people into Facebook? What makes them click on the “News feed” button in every five minutes? I would like to ask a broader question: Why are people fascinated by and dependent on social media, and what is its role and impact on us?
There has always been controversy on whether or not social media is healthy for teenagers. In the article, “Antisocial Networking?” by Hilary Stout from the New York Times dated April 30, 2010, Stout explicates why she dislikes social networking sites. She claims that social media eliminates the opportunity for adolescents to develop empathy for others, understand different emotions, and recognize the meaning of facial expressions and body language. However, Melissa Healy clarifies how social media is beneficial for teens in her article, “Teenage Social Media Butterflies May Not Be Such a Bad Idea” from the Los Angeles Times dated May 18, 2010. I disagree with Hilary Stout because social media is an efficient way of communicating with friends, helps teens develop social skills, and creates opportunities for adolescents.
According to the website internetsafety101.org, 85% of American youths between the ages of 13 and 17 have a social media account. This statistic seems normal because this demographic is with the parameters of the target group that most social media giants target their services to. However, these social media giants did not intend that their services be used to harass and bully their users by other users. According to the website, “33% of teenagers have been victims of cyberbullying.” This means that on...
In the end, social networking is the act of expanding one’s social circle by connecting other individuals, specifically in relation with the use of the Internet. It is rather common to find individuals of all ages using social sites to stay in-contact with others. While many can argue that social networking is more beneficial for teens, studies prove that the use of such forms of communication can negatively affect the lives of teens anywhere through its ability to create interpersonal and intrapersonal trials.
There are multiple problems with teenagers using social media. Indirect communication is a big problem. Teenagers are missing out on learning critical social skills. Modern teens are learning to do most of their communication while looking at a phone screen, not another person. In a way, texting and online communication are putting teens in a trance. A trance where body

America has many issues, one of them is the issue of social media taking over our world. People of today could not go a day without social media; it runs their lives. Though social media makes our lives easier, by allowing us to stay connected, it is threatening the sanity and psychological health of people. Many people over use social media they post every move of their day and get addicted to informing people what they are doing. Teens are the most highly affected people in America due to the fact that they use social media the most in everyday life; this makes them more vulnerable and capable of becoming addicted. People need to realize that technology is affecting the teens of America and making them psychologically ill.
The time teenagers spend using social media, in front of the computer and with their cellphones, is excessive. People judge social media with different opinions: some people look at social media as an interesting and useful tool and some people just do not like social media at all. What people do not know are the consequences social media can bring to teenagers.
Society has evolved over time regarding the access to social media. The access to social media as a whole has open the door for juveniles to explore and has created their minds to be more advanced than they should be. Juveniles now a day, do not realize the harms and consequences that they are being exposed to when they enter the social media world. Juveniles do not realize that not everyone you encounter in social media are who they say they are. Cyberbullying, Kidnapping, and Harassment are some of the harms and consequences that juveniles are caught up in when they make social media a part of their life.
There are about one and a half billion users of social media worldwide. It can be used to meet new people, find old friends, chat the day away, join interest groups, or even to share pictures. Social networks were mostly created so people could meet and find new friends. What most users of social media don't know, are the dangers of using social media. One example is when you meet a person online, because they are not always who they say they are. If someone is not who you may think they are, who could they be? They can be a stalker or a person that wants to steal your identity; which could be done easily thanks to new developments of new technology. Also thanks to new technology it is now easier for people using your information to track you. Posting personal information can risk your family and friends lives. Social media can be used as a weapon against you. It can even lead to a kidnapping, or even someone's death. Many people use social media to help to waste time, but could also become an unhealthy addiction. Also social media can damage your future. When you are a teen you tend to post pretty much anything you want. This is dangerous because you can post too much personal information. What most teens don't realize is that what they do on social media now can affect them for the rest of their life. It can even come back to haunt you in the future. Social media is dangerous because it makes it easier to be stalked, identity theft to happen, kidnappings and murders, and also can ruin your future.
Looking at this the majority of the teenagers lifestyle now is social media. With this change teenagers on social media have become more vulnerable to bullying one of the most common problems with social media, that affects this generation the most, especially the behavior change. The main cause for the bullying online called cyberbullying, is the fact that putting something on the internet versus telling someone face to face, teenagers have found that this is an easier way of a form bullying. The behavior changes are dramatically increased from before bullying to cyberbullying, mainly because the general public can see and talk about it regardless if it involves that individual. By doing this it can severely hurt, and change the behavior of the one getting bullied. But with social media, there’s always good aspects, one good aspect of Social Media is that people can connect from far away places to short distance apps on their phones and computers, meaning that travel can possibly be less important than before, or making long distance relationships easy to keep and establish.
