Thevenot has stated that, “blogging has become one of the most popular social media and networking tools.” Although there are many blog styles, I am concerned with looking at blogs specifically within the fashion industry, and how high-end fashion designers and reputable brands are turning to social media channels to not only inform, but also increase their consumer base through brand exposure. Newly emerging as this visual industry’s most trusted influencers, fashion bloggers provide for a means for designers to not only show, but also inform, a larger, global audience of their brand and their products.

This is a sign that fashion designers are beginning to acknowledge the power that these influential bloggers have within the industry. With fashion bloggers’ increasing influence and followings within the industry, this study shows how supportive relationships, accompanied with public product reviews and other public relations strategies, can allow the publicity necessary for designers and brands who wish to make their mark on the industry be successful. Brands work largely with bloggers because they want to be exposed to a new consumer base and it helps establish authenticity. A company that works largely with bloggers is Triangl swimwear, Triangl is an Australian swimwear brand that approach bloggers and ‘successful Instagram accounts’ and will offer them free swimwear to spread their brand
