These devices were made in effort to stay connected with others. As the need to connect has become greater, social media has begun to take over the lives of people around the world. The trend of social media has caused people rely on their phone as the main source of communication. Social media is detrimental to society because it has caused people to be more connected through their phone rather than face-to-face interaction. Social media is a world-wide trend that enables people to stay connected through sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and many more. This trend effects people Consequently, if this trend continues people will become more attached to their social media and they will not value the time that they could be spending with others face to face. This trend is also detrimental to society because it has caused human-beings to lose appreciation for communication between each other and place more value in communication online. Social media portrays a false image of the life that people are living and causes them to place more value into their live and communications through social media. Furthermore, social media is a trend that is detrimental for society. In conclusion, social media is detrimental to society. This trend is an effort to stay connected through social media. As technology has increased, social media has become a larger part in the lives of people around the world. It causes people to become invested in the amount of followers they have and consequently, people begin to put all of their effort into communicating with their followers.
