Social Media, a worldwide communication center that has grown globally and impacted everyone. Although many may seem to see social networking to be evolving and bringing people together, many believe it has created a separation barrier. It is becoming very clear that social media has become a big part of people’s everyday lives. Social Media has transformed the way people interact with each other, including increasing the likelihood of bullying, and immensely decreasing productivity. This platform has brought along many risks with it, including a type of bullying called cyberbullying. Cyber bullying refers to a form of harassment and violence through the internet. “Over 25 percent of adolescents and teens have been bullied repeatedly through their cellphones or the internet” (Cyber Bullying Statistics). This means 1 of 4 people have experienced some sort of bullying from someone on the other side of the computer. The technology used today, gives the user the chance put out any information into the world. Sharing too much information could create a gateway for cyber bullies.
