Platforms such as Facebook and Twitter are some of the main places that these events happen. Many people prefer social media to live interaction, which prompts people to think that social media ruins human connection. However, many studies have shown otherwise, suggesting that instead human connection is evolving. People of all ages and origins use social media as a way to communicate. Studies have found that social media has a wide variety of users. These varying reasons show that connection through social media exists and is a valid way of communication.
Social media can provide many with feelings of connection; from people who do not have the means to communicate with people dear to them, to dating, and providing emotional support, it is fair to say that social media does keep us connected. We are able to use the internet to connect with these people, and it has changed the way we communicate for the better.
