According to en.wikipedia.org, “Gender Diversity is a term referring to how different genders are represented in a relevant setting. Primarily this term is often used to refer to females and males, though in some contexts and research the term may also refer to those who fall into non-binary categories of gender”. Diversity deals with a variety of different categories, such as racial, ethnic, and generational groups.

Race is explained as “A group of people identified as distinct from other groups because of supposed physical or genetic traits shared by the group. Most biologists and anthropologists do not recognize race as a biologically valid classification, in part because there is more genetic variation within groups than between them”. …show more content…

In the early 20th century, girls were brought up, and believed to be servants for men. Women tended to stay home cook dinner, clean the house etc. Men were the leaders and women obeyed. Sexism was a huge thing in the 20th century, and if females wanted to work, they were going to have to accept it. Men in the workplace harassed and sexually assaulted many women, but it never mattered. Sexism has died down in the 21st century and both genders are treated more equally. Gender equality in the workplace is crucial for a company to have great success. To keep female and male employees happy it is important to make sure resources, opportunities and rewards are offered equally throughout the workplace. Some company’s encourage a mixture of both genders to promote better success in the organization. Others have more of a bias outlook and tend to hire one gender over the other. Some stores may have to hire one gender over the other due to the product being sold. For example, a men’s hockey shop for the most part will have male employees. This is not a bias or sexism; it is just that more man are interested in that particular job over women and vice
