Most sleep problems occur as a result of poor “sleep hygiene” or “bad habits.” This could be personal practices and environmental factors. Activities like smoking, drinking alcohol or caffeine, too much exercise, eating a large meal right before you go to bed, psychological stressors like deadlines, exams, relations conflicts maybe with a significant other, or maybe something bad happened at work. All these things can contribute to sleep disorders.
There are more than 85 recognized sleep disorders, the most common are insomnia, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and restless leg syndrome. There are ways to treat these sleep disorders, many people use medications that doctors prescribe them. Some people have to change their lifestyle and quit activities like smoking or eating certain foods. Some individuals just have to be a little more active throughout their day like going out for an evening walk.

My boss on the contrary, has been having issues sleeping and refers to it as restless leg syndrome. He claims that some nights his legs stiffen up and he just cannot get them to relax. About a year-ago he bought a 15-ton crane to remove dangerous trees that have grown over houses and are a major hazard. Since we have had to crane he has been the one to operate it which takes no physical labor. We seem to think that this may have something to do with it and I have suggested that he try going for a jog or a run every once in a while, to let off some steam. I also suggested that he eat a banana each day to combat the issue. Bananas have a protein called tryptophan. It is a natural muscle relaxer and might help.
