Skin can be a way someone can tell your age or determine your hygiene. Taking care of your skin is very important for your health, but also for your self- esteem. Your skin can make you feel self-conscious, or very confident, all depending on how it looks. Your skin is important in many ways, so taking care of it, knowing the dos and don’ts, and doing up keep on it is essential. Caring for the skin is crucial and easy enough for everyone to do. Some of the basic necessities are washing your skin, moisturizing it, and protecting it. Washing your skin unclogs the pores within your skin. It gets a lot of the dirt out of your skin, which if not washed could give you skin problems. Every person should we washing their skin twice a day, once after waking up and once before going to bed. Moisturizing your skin is important, some soaps and face wash products can dry out the skin. If you already have dry skin, wear face makeup or use an acne cream, moisturizer is a must. It hydrates your skin, making it less sensitive and uncomfortable, and gives your skin a clean and fresh look. Another indispensable way to take care of your skin is to protect it from the sun. “A lifetime full of sun exposure can cause wrinkles; age spots, and increases your risk of skin cancer”(Adult Health). You can protect your skin by wearing sunscreen with a SPF of at least 15 or higher, making sure you’re not in sun for long periods of time and wearing protective clothing.
