Skin Cancer

Skin cells that lose the ability to grow and divide are called skin cancer. Another name for skin cancer is neoplasia. Skin cancer begins on the outer layer of the skin called the epidermis and is the most common form of cancer in humans. All skin cancers are important but the most commonly seem is the basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma. These skin cancers happens when the skin starts to grows abnormal skin cells and form a mass called a skin tumor. Basal cell carcinoma and squamous are the most common skin cancer and they are referred to as nonmelanoma cancer. The least dangerous skin cancer of the three is the basal cell carcinoma. The most dangerous skin cancer of the three is melanoma because it spreads quickly to metastasize throughout the body. Metastasizing means to affect or spread elsewhere in the body from the original tumor site to another site on the body by transporting tiny cells by the lymph’s or blood. A skin tumor is benign, if the tumor spreads to the tissue it’s known as malignant or cancerous, and if the tumors affects healthy cells its known as malignant tumors. Most skin cancers affect people who are 50 or older and a growth begins to change the existing skin growth, then a sore form to be cancerous. For treatment to be able to happen it has the cancer must be in a treatable area, the type of cancer has to be treatable, depends on the stage of the cancer, the age of the person, and the overall health of the person.

...l carcinoma is the least life threatening disease because it rarely spreads and grows very slowly. Tumors begin to form on the face in a round circle like a sore or like a pimple that won’t heal. They may bleed or have a yellow discharge coming from them. When the skin is stretched the pimple looks like a pearly grayish color and you can see the blood vessels running through it. The warning signs of skin cancer are the change of the appearance of the skin, a new growth on the skin, or a sore that won’t heal. The small cells that act as reservoir for the spuamous cells began to shed at the surface of the skin. If the cells divide abnormally it can become cancerous and then you have skin cancer. The tumor is curable to be treated with radiation, chemotherapy, surgery or cryosurgery is freezing off the tumor.
