IB Students would like to know more about CPR or skills because they are all rounded students as they have all the skills needed to help people. Some who is knowledgeable would like to help with CPR or know this skills because a knowledgeable person/skill is something(one) who likes to have knowledge about a lot of things. They also want to have the knowledge of different disciplines and helping someone is a type of discipline each person should have in their lives as they need to respect every life and help people in need. With the skills of being a first aid responder that person also knows how and when to his/her skills, and to be that person that person is knowledgeable as that person has the knowledge of what to do to save that person 's life, as well as what are the steps of helping that person. As an IB student it our duty to know all the skills both in local and global perspective and what impact it has on others. So if we know how to do CPR we can help a friend or a person who in a difficult situation like choking, or unconscious because of an accident or any other accident. Another reason an IB student would like to have this skills is not just to know them but also make a connection on how if every student in the world would have knowledge about CPR during difficult situation those skills would be useful and they would be able to save someone 's life or lives. The reason you need to be knowledgeable in order to be able to use this skills in the real world is by actually using them correctly with knowing the outcome the CPR would have on the consent. One real life situation would be if their was an accident right next to your house, and people were injured according the the situation you would be able to respond and help...

...ations. For practice they don 't have to practice on a real human being but they could also create their own situations and practice their CPR skills at home, as well as notice the small mistakes made during the trial the reflect upon those mistakes made. Reflective people don 't like to make the same mistakes again and that the reason they are thought how to notice the small observations that no one else can notice, and with this skills they will not only be able to help a person but also notice the small injuries that [person might have had during that accident. Overall people who are reflective don 't make a mistake as they have already learned how to learn and change from their past mistakes, so people like this would not repeat a mistake which is for the good as during CPR a mistake could take someone 's life especially when you know that the mistake was yours.
The proposed change project will introduce CPR training to the schools of Contra Costa County. By educating faculty, students, and parents about the benefits of performing CPR and providing basic CPR training tools, the 70% of people who feel helpless during a cardiac emergency will decrease. Using social media tools, like YouTube, allows a larger population to receive education. Overall, by allowing the project into schools, the number of people who are fearful and or unwilling to perform CPR will increase and thereby improve the chances of survival.
...hat has worked and what hasn’t. If a student for example is taking blood for the first time and something goes wrong, they don’t find the right vein. Reflective practise would help that student to understand what he/she done wrong while carrying out the procedure and how they could stop that from happening again. Not is only reflective practice good for pointing out the bad factors of something but can also be there for when a procedure goes exceptionally well. If a health professional finds a certain technique works better than what’s in place already, reflective practise is a good way to shear the information you found with other colleges so they can carry out that particular producer. Gibbs 1988 is an example of reflective practice, he uses six stages when doing reflective practice which include Description, feelings, evaluation, analyse, analyse and actions plan.

While walking to school one day Florida sophomore Jalen Lee came upon a woman who wasn’t breathing. Thanks to training Lee received during his high school’s first aid class he knew just what to do. Lee administered CPR, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and possibly saved the woman’s life. CPR training in high schools has helped countless students around the country save the lives of friends, loved ones, and strangers. Providing CPR training to all students will save even more lives.
There are certain barriers in using reflective practice such as lack of proper resources to improve their learning experience. Some nurses are not aware of how to undertake reflective practice due to their lack of knowledge and also may be worried about documenting experiences and emotions. Furthermore, time is one of the main barrier for reflective practice, learning through reflective practice can be time consuming, and if a nurse is reluctant or shows lack of motivation to spend time in improving their skills or knowledge through reflection or reflective practices, it will not benefit in making any changes in their profession and also in their patient care. According to Forneris et al, (2009) lack of time can cause beginner nurses to become

... properly interact and communicate well with their clients, they need to be emotionally intelligent, self aware, create a therapeutic relationship and develop reflective practices. All of the above contributes to an individual’s health and so it’s very important that we are able to control our emotions, correct and learn from our mistakes, examine and balance our life and create a therapeutic environment so that our clients feel comfortable, safe and trust us enough to live their life in our hands.
Reflection encourages the student to acknowledge and act upon their strengths and weaknesses in their ability to make clinical decisions (3). As the student reflects it allows them to focus their attention on areas where they have both succeeded and struggled in the clinical setting and apply direct relation to how much knowledge they have gained from the experience (3). Furthermore, whilst it also also allows the student the ability to pose questions, seek clarification of specific events, find meaning and discuss matters of concern and interest with their preceptors in their reflective writing (3). Nonetheless, it is not until the student has achieved the additional knowledge that they will fully understand the limitation of their own practice (3).
As you sit in a classroom at the Community College, you may not think that saving a life is something you could do today, but, in fact, it's quite easy to do.
I have learned that something as simple as listening to a patient and just hearing them talk can help to de-escalate whatever situation that person may be in. I have also learned how to better assess these patients and help provide them with other resources that are needed, like depression related support groups or counseling.
A disaster is not a simple emergency. A disaster is that point when a human is suffering and has a devastating situation which they themselves need help from others to survive. Regardless if natural or human caused, a disaster causes a vast amount of issues in the community. In the simulation of “Disaster in Franklin County reveals that preparation is key and even with that more can be addressed. A community nurse remains an essential part of the team involved in a disaster including before, during, and after the event.
Reflection in practice is a highly regarded skill which healthcare professionals should all become familiar with. Any concerns or complications encountered on previous occasions can be reflected upon and necessary amendments can be made. This alteration to one’s practice can empower healthcare workers to deliver first class person centred care, whilst remaining observant, competent and mindful of previous endeavours, which can instil a level of confidence within the workplace.
There are three major aims of First Aid. The first major aim is obviously to preserve a person’s life. Throughout medical care institutions, the main aim is to save lives and minimize the threat of death. The second major aim of First Aid is to prevent further harm to patients. The aim is to keep the injury from worsening. An example of this would be applying pressure to a wound to stop bleeding from becoming dangerous. The third and final major aim of First Aid is to promote reco...
