You Are A Consumer Advocate
I did very well in this simulation considering I knew very little about what a consumer advocate did on a daily basis going into the simulation. Even though I did very well, I still did the worst on this simulation. Many times the answer would have been much easier if I had known what a consumer advocate did before starting the simulation. My results were five out six challenges correct. The only challenge I was incorrect on was the first. I believe the reason I missed the first one was because I was unfamiliar with what consumer advocate's do. I quickly figured out exactly what a consumer advocate does which helped me the remainder of the simulation.
Since I learned the most from this simulation there were many things that I learned from You Are A Consumer Advocate. I never knew the important role consumer advocates have in the tedious legislative process. Many bills die every year going through our difficult legislative process. Without consumer advocates, many more bills would never get to the House of Representatives and Senate. Consumer advocates are excellent at negotiating to reach a compromise on many issues to ensure it does reach the House and Senate. While doing this they have to make sure that the compromises they make are still what the people want. If they do not succeed in convincing everyone that the bill will be beneficial to everyone and not just one small group of people then the bill will die. As I was doing the simulation, I could not believe all of the things that rest on their shoulders. Consumer advocates have a very important job, and are probably as unfamiliar to a lot of the public as they were to me.

...p was that the people expect for there to be “prosperity” (400). If the president does not play his role correctly in that challenge then there will not be prosperity. The fourth and sixth challenge deal with the commander in chief and chief diplomat. The book says the role of the commander in chief and chief diplomat are closely associated because they both deal with “crisis management” (425). When I was on the fifth challenge, I knew that the correct answer was chief legislator because it was pertaining to a bill. If I had not known that then the book may have helped me out some. Chief legislator deals with the “executive's importance in the legislative process” (415).

Essay about Consumer Socialization: Children as Future Consumers

- There has been a time when children caught less attention of researches and marketers as consumers because of the limited disposable money they possess (Ward, 1974) and the inconsequential opinions they can express.
