Christianity expanded throughout the western world at the end of the Roman empire appealing to slaves, the poor, and women. A man born named Jesus Christ from Jerusalem, Israel, preached the word of God gains followers which threatened the Roman Empire. This led him to be crucified under the local government. After his death, Paul, an apostle, set the foundation of the Church, which would influence the western world greatly throughout history. Another prophet named Muhammad also gained followers through his visions of God in the East. This led to mass expansion, which the world had never seen before. After being banished from Mecca, Muhammad and his followers settled in Medina building a new city. This led to a new religion forming called Islam. Despite Islam and Christianity both developed and expanded at different times, they have more similarities than differences. Both had a strong devotion to one God, philosophy and had similar ideologies.
Both Islam and Christianity expressed a strong devotion to God. The main connection between both of these religions is that they are monotheistic. This was controversial in both the west and east empires where the majority of the elite were pagans. Paganism is the belief in one or more gods, in many empires the rulers themselves are also seen as gods. This was seen as a threat to the government and untimely led to the persecution of both religions. Even though they faced death, these religions, continued to spread their beliefs throughout the Mediterranean and the East.
These religions also had the same mission, to convert others. For the Christians, they were persecuted under Diocletian 's rule in the 303 A.C. Under his rule, he believed in order to unify the Roman Empire was to el...

The prophets like Jesus and Muhammad carried out They are both monotheistic religions that are prominent in today’s world as they were in their establishment.
