Education is and always has been a very important aspect of my life. My aspirations to become a teacher started at the age of three. Even my family has a long history in the education field. For that reason, I want to change the world one step at a time by becoming a teacher. I believe that teachers have the most important job. They are shaping the lives of students whether it is passing on values and beliefs, or teaching them about what has happened in the past. Some of my best teachers allowed students to put ourselves in history by relating today’s issues the past issues. I find the statistics of treatment of students alarming. I’ve seen teachers treat exceptional students with impatience and intolerance. It breaks my heart to see teachers act in this manner because we are supposed to be leaders and role models. I want my students to know that they are all important to me. I will be an unbiased teacher and treat all of my students with respect and fairness. As a teacher, there are a lot of responsibilities and commitments that a teacher must follow. Teachers can perform best when they use team planning, student/parent conferences, and classroom management. We also need the students to taken an active role in their own education with the help of parents and guardians. When I become a teacher I want my students to exceed the local and state goals on standardized test. My duty is to prepare students for the world that lies ahead. It is best that children learn at an early age rather than later. I want my students to use the tools that I give them throughout life.
