Smart phones are a common technology used by most students, therefore many schools have banned the use of smart phones. Instead of banning smart phones, these can be used for good purposes using them for educational purposes allowing students to use the web to search for information and apps. Because smart phones are used by most students the education system has set up a program called “Bring Your Own Device (B.Y.O.D.).” This allows students to use their own devices at school. Also when emergencies occur smart phones can be used to call for help immediately. But as with anything smart phones can lead to a distraction influencing students through games and social networks.
As smart phones are ubiquitous on most students, these smart phones can be used for educational purposes, helping students to use resources on the web and information from apps. Smart phones can be used to do quick background research during class activities students, this helps their understanding of the topic. Teachers are finding it harder and harder to separate a student from their cell phones for eight hours. Cellular devices and social media have become a number one priority for many people across the world. Due to the fact that the student will not put down their phones during school hours, their grades tend to be lower, which could, in the long run, affect their chances of getting into college. The use of cell phones does not strictly affect younger generations, it also had major influence on adults at the

My opinion is Yes cell phones should be used in school. Why? well they are used in so many good ways such as doing work on the phones. Furthermore, Soloway also mentioned about affordability and durability makes it suitable for students instead of using a laptop. Soloway implies that the advantages a smartphone brings in to the table when it comes to different circumstances is a perfect tool for learning. Despite all the benefits, Soloway addresses the most important issue when it comes to implementing smartphone usage in classrooms— “perception” (Soloway, 2011, pg. 2). Soloway states that to resolve the issue simply “turn off texting, and turn off voice functions” (Soloway, 2011.
Technology in schools should be allowed!!! Technology should be used in school classrooms because students can connect with students. Technology can be used as electronic textbooks , video players, graphing calculators and photo editors. Technology needs to be allowed in schools lastly but not leastly because students need them for emergency purposes. My first reason why Technology should be used in schools for classroom purposes is phones can be used to poll students in class and send homework reminders.
Have you ever heard of the gruesome Columbine High School massacre? This incident occurred on April 20th 1999 and involved two students embarking on a shooting rampage, killing twelve students, a teacher and wounding twenty three others. Unfortunately during this incident, the school's most easily accessible phone was on the other side of the school in the library. Perhaps some of these lives could have been saved if the students in this class had cell phones that they could've used to contact the authorities more quickly. The issue we are addressing today is the use of cellular devices in educational facilities. I believe that cell phone use is of extreme convenience, and has academically beneficial aspects, among it's so called "faults".
Every day we deal with technology whether it is checking our phones or typing a paper. People these days cannot live without their phone in their pocket. Although this might sound like a bad thing it is not, technology has many extremely useful benefits but also some downfalls. We see in Sources A, B, and D many ways that technology has been introduced into schools that are very beneficial but these schools must also be careful due to the fact that technology can also be harmful.
Today’s cell phone is the front line technology at our fingertips. Keeping this in mind the use of cell phones have become an affair when it comes to allowing teens to use them in educational environments, such as schools. One part of society supports the use of cell phones while the other part of society disapproves the use of cell phones. I personally believe that cell phones should not only be allowed in school, but cell phones should be mandatory just like a textbook. Cell phones do not only allow students to stay united with friends and family, but cell phones are also a magnificent learning system, and they boost the liable use of technology.
In conclusion, this essay has tried to argue that cell phones are valuable tools in schools. Many of us see cell phone pessimistically but really haven’t looked at them optimistically. We all know that "with every good, comes a bad, and with responsibilities, come consequences". By all means allowing cell phones in schools is a great idea, and students should start to learn the positive features of that new device. Overall, this essay has attempted to show that allowing cell phones in schools is not a bad idea.
Cell phones should be permitted in schools, because they can be very beneficial and practical in schools. Cell phones can be a life-saver in the case of an emergency. In New York, a violent incident has taken place. Fortunately, timely communication from a student using a cell phone saved a man who desperately needed medical attention (“Cell Phones in the Classroom”). Another student has assisted the police in arresting the suspect by giving timely updates of the criminal scene using a cell phone during the school lockdown.
The facts that have been stated in this research paper show enough facts that cell phone use has a great effect on young people’s lives. Sooner or later, the use of cell phones may become a major problem in school, so parents need to regulate all use of cell phones. Works Cited Cassel, David. The. The “Using Mobile Phones For Emergencies”.
Electronics are a huge part of our society. “Out of the world’s estimated 7 billion people, 6 billion have access to mobile phones” (Wang). Over thousands of these cell phones are owned by students K-12. A major debate topic is should cell phones be allowed in schools? “Twenty-four percent of schools have banned mobile devices altogether and sixty-two percent allow them on school grounds, but not in the classroom” (Raths). Cell phones should not be allowed in school because children focus more on the phone than schoolwork, it will create more drama, and it promotes cheating.
By permitting the use of cellphones in school, students can increase their knowledge and complete school work by using applications and other features on their smartphones. Teachers and students are now “using their phones as clickers to answer questions, providing feedback on student progress, and also to document labs, collaborate on group projects and capture teachers’ notes” (Higgins). Students like to do things the fun way, and by using their phones as clickers, they can learn and review for tests while having fun answering them on their phones. Students can use services on their phones to turn assignments in too. During group assignments, students can work right on their phones. If a student was absent one day, all another student has to do is send them the work they did with a touch of a button. Teachers usually move very fast when presenting information to students. By taking pictures of notes, it makes it easy for students to make sure they have all the notes without the teacher moving too quickly. They will be able to go home and review everything right there on that small little screen, hence increasing their knowledge. Additionally, “Students attending a field trip can snapshot a picture and capture their ideas” just by using the camera on...

Mobile phones are undeniable today. Almost everybody has a mobile phone. Formerly, it only functioned as a portable mean of communication. The function of a mobile phone has developed into entertainment. Furthermore, mobile phone has also come into the schools. However, it has both positive and negative effect on students. This essay argues that mobile phones will bring more negative than positive effect for students. Of course, students use it as a mean of communication and sometimes for an emergency call if they need it. Yet, they would use their mobile phones for both bullying and cheating. Also, mobile phones will make students lost concentration during their study.
