Meanwhile, Proponents say that school uniforms make schools safer for students, diminish economic, social barriers, and encourage children to focus on their studies rather than their clothes. While on the other side of the argument, Opponents say school uniforms abuse students ' right to express their individuality, has no positive effect on behavior, academic achievement, and put a financial burden on lower-class families. For that reason, a solution needs to take place to cease these two arguments. As I have said, Oklahoma City school districts 74 schools are in mandated school uniforms; while 17 schools have no uniforms. This will allow parents to see the procedures of the School Uniform Policy. For example, it will allow them to know the benefits of uniforms such as: increases school safety, encourages students to experience a greater sense of school identity and belonging, encourage an improvement in student behavior, and to reduce school clothing costs. Also the handbook allows the regulations of the uniform policy and how the uniforms should be worn at school.
Second, schools that adopt a mandatory school uniforms must set up a program to help families in need. Schools should include financial assistance for such families. There would be a site for donating clothing, operate a clothing closet where extra uniforms are kept. However, in a decision there will always be disagreements that will create issues. With that intention, the schools are willing to take consideration of the students’ and their parents. For example, to meet religious beliefs and standards the school uniform can be altered to fit individual needs. Eventually, people would agree with the decision of how willing the school makes a compromise of the students needs, and by letting the student still express their individuality with their uniforms and casual
