Do people really have freedom? Freedom of speech? Freedom to wear what they want? When people go to certain jobs they have to wear a uniform or a suit. This is also true in school. Some schools make students wear uniforms. Although some people may say that school uniforms help prevent kids from spending time picking out their clothes in the morning, they are wrong because kids will just have fits and not want to put on their uniform because it is not comfortable. There should not be school uniforms because there is evidence that it lowers academic scores, restricts students ' freedom of expression, causes a higher percent of violence at school, and promotes conformity over individuality.
According to the text in 1994 the first school uniforms were put into effect. ¨The state keeps no data on public school districts that have school uniform policies, but at least nine in Bergen County have or once had some form of a uniform dress code¨(Murtha). This is showing that the state of new jersey dose not care about school uniforms and dose not want schools to enforce school uniforms. More private schools have uniforms than public schools. ¨Private schools: Schools that are not open to the general public `and often require payment for the enrollment of each student. Private schools are free to limit their enrollment based on individually determined criteria. Public schools: Schools that are openly available to the general public at minimal cost and do not have entrance requirements based on prior knowledge or ability¨ (Chittom and Ginsburg).

To have a school pride you can have school appeal day where, kids wear something form the school shop or just school colors. Pride is not what makes the students learn better when they are in confute clothes that they get to pick out they tend to learn better. This is why there should be no uniforms along with there is evidence that it lowers academic scores, restricts students ' freedom of expression, causes a higher percent of violence at school, and promotes conformity over individuality. Making a child were a school uniform makes them fell like they are a pinsoir at jail.
