In the past marriage was man and woman not man and man or woman and woman. Just like in the past citizens and presidents change things according to their likes and dislikes, citizens of the United States are no longer required have arrange marriages so why is it still illegal to have same sex marriage?
Many business people have made some ethical dilemmas involving same sex marriage. Some businesses though do not realize what benefits could occur if same sex marriages were made legal. If same gender marriage was legal there would be less discrimination causing our United States to become one, like the constitution wants us to be. If same sex marriage was legal then couples of all races, gender, and religion would all receive 1,138 benefits that

An ethical dilemma is a situation where someone has two choices and neither one of these options resolves the situation in an ethical way (Ethical Dilemma Examples, 2015). An example of this is when a business woman owns a bakery and a same sex couple enters the business to order a cake for their wedding. This business woman who does not believe in same sex marriage has two options refuse to make a cake for this couple or make them leave her business. Those choices are both wrong and if she wanted to do the right thing she would swallow her beliefs and make a cake for this …show more content…
Most same sex couples get dined child custody, family medical leave, family healthcare coverage, social security benefits, and federal and state benefits. When a “traditional” married couple has kids but one of partners from the marriage discovers they are interested in the same sex, that person who is interested in the same gender is unlikely to get custody of their child. Now if that same person lives with the same gender and acts just like a “traditional” married couple they still cannot get married. Since same sex marriage is not legal then this couple will not be able to get married and if their partner is on their death bed they are not allowed to leave work with family medical leave act and they can lose their job over this. Is any of this fair (Webb, 2015)? In the United States there are many countries that do not allow same sex marriage but there are a few that do allow it. With same sex couples there comes a lot of ethical dilemmas and theories that occur with businesses. There are downfalls with same sex marriage but there are many upside on same sex marriage. Businesses and the people in them need to watch how they treat people like this even if it is not legal, there is consequences in everything you do or not
At times in a person’s life, they might come across a few situations that leave them with a major decision between two or more options that challenge what they believe or what they might think is wrong or right. These are known as ethical dilemmas. Be it seeing a friend steal something and choosing between being honest and speaking up or letting it go. It can also be getting paid more than you earned and deciding if you’re going to be greedy and keep the money or return it. We run into these situations in our lives, some bigger and more influential on our destiny’s while others are small with no real consequences.
Allowing homosexual couples to get married will bring in more marriages and a bigger amount of money to the economy. A big part of getting married is the financial aspect of it. "Marriage ceremonies entail a significant expense, and it was estimated by the Comptroller of New York that the added infusion from legalizing same sex couple marriages would add $142 million to the economy. This not only accounts for the profits that businesses will receive if same-sex marriage is allowed, but also for the payments these couples must make to acquire marriage licenses."
An ethical dilemma is defined as a moral issue, where a situation has two equivalent undesirable alternatives and neither choice will resolve the ethical predicament.
Same-sex marriage is not legal in every state but more and more states are beginning to allow same-sex marriages. I am not a homosexual, but I do not disagree with other people being homosexual because it is their choice. Marriage is a choice everyone has to make. Homosexuals, unfortunately, in most states, do not have this choice. Is this a fair deal?
This article explains the concerns which people in homosexual relationships have over the change in laws which would make them equal to heterosexual couples. The main concern is that they may be publicly outed as being part of a homosexual couple when they want to keep it secret, otherwise they wouldn't be able to receive the benefits.
An example of an ethical dilemma would be a client who refuses to take their blood pressure medication however based on autonomy they have the right to. The nurse may not be able to follow the principles of beneficence and autonomy at the same time because respecting patient autonomy means the nurse is not able to fulfill the obligation to “do good” for the patient. However, in this case, if the patient was competent the principle of autonomy would take priority. Abortion is another example of an ethical dilemma faced in the medical profession. For instance, some doctors are against abortion, yet there are certain others who have no problem at all doing it.
The Legalization of Gay Marriage in America; not for the Homosexual People, but for all People of America.
[2] An Ethical dilemma is defined as “a situation that arises when all alternative choices or behaviours have been deemed undesirable because of potentially negative ethical consequences, making it difficult to distinguish right from wrong” (Samson and Daft, 2005, p.158)
An ethical dilemma is a form of problem facing an individual, which includes complex and often conflicting principles of ethical behaviour. A typical example of an ethical dilemma is a salesman; when selling a certain type of product he may face the dilemma of telling the truth about a product and end up losing a sale and his commission. However, he may feel that being truthful reveals he wants the best for the customers and is being more considerate about them. It all depends on how you deal and understand a situation.
What is dilemma? Dilemma means when one has to select a choice in a difficult situation. Now what is ethics? Ethic means selection between rights things and wrong things and knowingly chooses the right side of the situation. In today’s society we are facing ethical dilemma on regular basis which force us to use our judgment relevant to the problems. According to the philosopher 's point of view our moral values helps to choose the right path and teach us to behave in the society. Similar concept applies in business too, we have to select between right and wrong thing and be on the right side. Ethical direction is really important when crisis occurs at workplace. During this kind of crisis workers and leaders has to stay strong in order to get through the situation. However there is the possibility that some times business owner or manager ends up taking wrong decisions which effects on themselves, their workers and the business itself. Now the real question is do business professionals follows the ethical guidelines or they just
sexual to get a job, as it would be for a heterosexual. Companies and other major firms would rather choose someone that is straight then someone having the same sex partner. Sometimes homosexuals get the job but they do not have the same rights as any other employee would. Though out the United States there has been more then a dozen of cases dealing with equal employment opportunities. The university of Pittsburgh denies their lesbian and gay employees equal compensation by refusing to provide their1 partners the same health insurance benefits that they provide to spouses of heterosexual employees. Gays and lesbians should have the same rights to have relationships as everyone else, and should have the same employment opportunities.
Gay and lesbian unions have been for a long time a subject that no one liked to discuss. For the last few decades, gays and lesbians have come out and expressed their sexuality preferences. Many believe that same sex marriage should not be legalized because it's against the moral. It's against the definition of marriage, which is considered as the union of a man and a woman as a husband and wife. Same sex marriage should be legalized because the way society views the union of lesbian and gays can a change. Another reason why same sex marriage should be legalized is that children that are issued from a gay or lesbian couple will be loved and raised in a family that is legally recognized under the law. Lesbians and gays also deserve to have the same rights as heterosexuals.
In recent years, same-sex marriage has become a more controversial topic on whether it’s right or wrong. People should not feel coerced to agree with something they believe is wrong; clearly, same-sex marriage is immoral and unnatural. Many complications come with same-sex marriages including financial pressures, social pressures, moral pressures, and health risks.
In conclusion I argue that banning same-sex marriage is discriminatory. It is discriminatory because it denies homosexuals the many benefits received by heterosexual couples. The right to marriage in the United States has little to do with the religious and spiritual meaning of marriage. It has a lot to do with social justice, extending a civil right to a minority group. This is why I argue for same-sex marriage. The freedom to marry regardless of gender preference should be allowed.
In the eyes of the Supreme Court, same-sex couples do not meet the prerequisites and qualifications needed to be legally married. The old-fashioned idea of marriage consists of a husband and a wife, where the man works and provides for the family while the woman stays home to tend the children. It’s no mystery that these outdated
