Adoption by gays and lesbians first appeared in the United States in the 1970s. At the time, judges were not sympathetic to the idea of allowing a homosexual man or woman to parent a no biological child. As the society has become tolerant toward same-sex couples, this question arises: Should gay marriages adopt? Leading to a controversial statement where some people believe that same-sex couples should not be allowed to adopt while others consider that they should.
A child needs stability while growing up. Children might feel unaccepted by one of the parents in the nucleus of a new family after an adoption. Some people believe that gay adoption is harmful to the children involved. Moreover, such people state that those children involved will develop emotional problems, such as sexual- identity confusion and depression. ...as we do. They can be responsible, loving and good parents. They can be most of the time better than the heterosexual parents. People think false statements about homosexual people, because of the way they think. We must open our mind and leave behind the taboos that blind us. Furthermore we must consider the benefits of homosexual people adopting children. This will resolve the existing problem of thousands of children without a home. In my believe same-sex couples should be allowed to adopt, because there is no proof enough that they are not able of being good parents. Also, their love for a child is the same as heterosexual couples. Their sexual orientation should not have any preference on how they raise a child. Instead of being concerned about gay couples adopting we must draw our attention to those parents who abuse their children and mistreat them in any way.
