Is abortion right or wrong? I believe that abortion is neither totally right nor wrong. I do believe that teenagers should be able to have abortions without parent’s permission but, the parents should be informed because it’s a medical procedure. Teenagers should be able to have abortions because there only children themselves, they haven’t even grown up so how would they be able to take care of a child? Not only will it be difficult to care for a child, but their choices will be limited when the baby is born. Teens 16 to 19 were three and one-half times more likely than the general population to be victims of rape, attempted rape or sexually assaulted which leads to my third reason why teenagers should be able to have abortions. Teenagers should absolutely be able to have an abortion if they are raped it’s un-fair to force a victim to have her attackers child.
Teenagers are still kids. So basically we have a bunch of kids having kids which is insane. Teenagers aren’t ready to be parents until they have grown up themselves. Teens aren’t able to raise a steady family, they don’t have jobs, their children won’t have fathers, and they aren’t responsible enough for that yet. To be a parent you need discipline, education, and finances. Teens have none of that. The teenagers shouldn’t have to have all of that forced onto them at such an early age. What type of teen would give up friends, proms, their education, and their whole life just to change diapers, feed and take care of a baby. Teenagers already don’t like waking up early in the morning for school, so why would they to take care of a baby in the middle of the night? That’s just it, they wouldn’t. Teenagers are just too young to be having kids When their only kids. Teenage...

...thermore, mothers that were a victim of rape usually have life- long bonding issues with their child. Most victims of rape have severe physiological issues, and even more so if the victim is a teenager. As much as seventy five percent of rape victims are on some type of anti-depressant medication, which may be harmful to an unborn child.
Issues in today’s society include whether teenagers should be able to have abortions. Teenagers should be able to have abortions because they are only kids themselves, they will have very limited choices when the baby is born and they could be a victim of rape. I believe that teenagers should have the right to do what they want with their body even though they are a minor. If they don’t want to raise a child at the time then they shouldn’t be forced to do so. Therefore teenagers should be able to have abortions if they want to.
How can a child make the decision for the life of another child by themselves? In this paper I will outline the mental, physical, and safety issues of minors (age 18 and under) having an abortion and why it is so important that they need to get parental consent before making this life long decision.
An issue that has flared up in today’s society, abortion is a highly debated topic that has sparked some of the most violent discussions. The rapid growth in teenage pregnancy has only increased the amount of attention that has been drawn to abortion and whether it is ethical or not. While some say that a woman is in power of her own body and can make choices based on her best interest, some take much offense to that and demand that a baby is a baby no matter how small it is and that abortion is never okay. It is important to know going into this debate that to argue one side, one would have to be 100% consistent with that decision because of all of the grey areas that come up regarding abortion. With that being said, I still believe that a mother should take responsibility of the situation and recognize that, even though it is minuscule, a baby is a person the moment it begins to develop inside of her.
There are many reasons to keep abortion legal. There is more to this than most think such as, “back alley” abortions and how dangerous those could be, even possibly causing death of the mother. With that said, in cases of rape or incest it most definitely should remain legal. At least in America, women have rights, which that include a say in what happens with their bodies. Everyone is responsible for their own physical well-being, as women are to decide the fate of his or her own bodies; even if it is to the extent of getting an abortion. Although these may all play an important role in the topic of keeping abortion legal, it’s important to have cold, hard, facts behind these bold statements.
Abortion has been the biggest controversy of all time. Many people believe that it is morally okay and not murder just because it is legal. Individuals never think about how it would make them feel if someone took away their ability to live, grow, and become someone. They do not envision not being able to have any say in whether or not they want to have a life. Well, babies do not have an option in the womb. If the woman decides to abort her baby, they can do nothing about their life being taken right out of their hands. Their whole future is destroyed with no chances of going back on the mother’s decision. I believe abortion is wrong when having it for a selfish reason. I am arguing that Abortion is wrong, although not to be misguided with ‘Abortion should be prohibited.’ Abortion is wrong in terms of an unplanned pregnancy, disability diagnosis, adolescent pregnancy, or contraceptives and birth control not working right that month.
The words of an unborn baby are ones that almost no one ever thinks of, or hears. One of this country's most controversial topics is abortion. However, if one sees the constitutional infringement to women by the restriction of abortion; the torment to the unwanted child; and the anguish society has to sustain, then this topic would not be so debatable. Too many people do not see the effect that abortions cause. It is a very dangerous offence that affects the mother, father, the community, and most importantly, the fetus, and that is why abortion should be illegal in Canada. First, abortion is against God’s law in many Holy books such as the Bible and the Quran. Secondly, abortion does not only affect the individual, but the community as a whole, and the rights of those people are infringed on. However, abortion does nothing in the cases of rape, or women’s rights, which is the constant argument people in favour of abortion argue. And lastly, abortion should be seen for what it is, murder.
Abortion has been preformed for over thousands of years. It was first started for the fear among the “native” Anglo-Saxon women. They believed that the population would be dominated by the children of the incoming immigrants, who had higher birth rates at the time. In the mid-to-late 1800s, states began legalizing abortion but antiseptics were unfamiliar, hospitals were not common, and doctors did not have the knowledge to understand abortion. As years went on, the scientific method began to take over medical practice, technology and it increased the prevention of infection. Abortion procedures became more effective and much safer. The only problem was the states that were anti-abortion, led women who needed abortions to get them from illegal practitioners or get “back alley” abortions. About 1.2 million women received illegal abortions per year. To get an abortion was a dangerous and deadly procedure which resulted getting debilitated or killed. In 1973, there was an important defining moment in public health history. A Supreme Court case, between Jane Roe and Henry Wade, made it possible for women to get safe and legal abortions from trained medicals practitioners. Roe, a 21-year-old pregnant woman, was representing all women who wanted abortions but could not get them legally or safely. Texas, at the time, was anti-abortion state unless it was to save a woman’s life, which was supported by Wade, a Texas Attorney General. The Supreme Court ruled that Americans have the right to privacy; this includes the right of a woman to decide whether to have children without state interference. Many communities were enraged and did not agree with the court’s decision to legalize abortion. Soon after, anti-abortionist began working to prev...

Abortion is wrong. It is wrong because when someone decides to have an abortion they are taking a life. A fetus is a person. It is a separate entity from its mother; therefore, that unborn child’s only future is to be born not aborted.
The main problem in the world is inevitable abortion. Because it is about morality; which people tend pay more attention. Nowadays, Abortion is a controversial problem as people think of appropriateness. However, Abortion is necessary in many cases. Three main reasons why abortion should be banned are condition that women are not pregnancy, health problem in mother, and social problem.
There are thousands of women in the world make the mistake of getting pregnant. Yes, there are forms of contraception but they are not 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. Approximately 1.4 million abortion procedures are done each year in the United States, with 30% of those women being younger than forty-five years old (ProCon). Without abortion, there would be an abundance of children who are brought into the world unwanted and not being able to have the essentials they need to go through life successfully. The most difficult responsibility a woman would have to go through is finances. 85% of women who wish to have an abortion are unmarried and have to support the child alone (“Abortion Procedures”). Abortion can save a woman from going through financial distress when she is aware that she is not financially stable. Teen pregnancy is common in the world and they are not at a point in life where taking care of someone else, other than themselves, is possible to do alone. Thirty-nine states allow minors to go through the abortion procedure with parent consent (“Abortion Procedures”). All fifty states should allow this because if teens could not receive that choice, then they would have to carry an unwanted baby that they could not take care of after giving birth. Most abortion procedures are during the first trimester (Lowen). During the first weeks of pregnancy the development of the fetus is a gather of cells, therefore killing cells is not killing an actual person so abortion should not be considered murder.
A mother kills her unborn child because it is unwanted, but she's not charged for murder. Is it right? There is about 46 million abortions per year worldwide, and approximately 115,000 per day, but why? Is it because rape or incest, health problems with either the mother or the child, or just because the baby's unwanted or inconvenient at the time? (The Alan Guttmacher Institute.) Abortion should be banned because too many babies are being killed from abortion, if you don't want a child you could always put it up for adoption, and most mothers don't understand the consequences that occur from abortion.
Abortion has been accepted by the United States of America ever since the monumental Roe vs. Wade case in the early 1970’s, but is still a very controversial issue. Many people are for and against abortions. Some people say that the child inside its mother’s womb deserves the opportunity to live, while others believe that a mother has the right to choose whether or not her fetus can live or die. Other advocates for abortion claim that abortion helps keep the threat of overpopulation down. They also say that in many extreme cases, it is in the best interest of the mother and the child that the fetus be aborted. Abortion helps keep the crime rate low, so it should remain legal, they also say.
To be raped is to be sexually assaulted forcefully and unwillingly. According to the Uniform Crime reports, of all serious offenses, rape is probably “the most under reported crime.” Victims of rape are not only violated physically, they are violated mentally as well. It is a very traumatic experience that woman have to deal with for the remainder of their life. They usually incur symptoms of post-traumatic stress syndrome, stress disorders, fear, constant memories of the attack, a loss of confidence, and shame. (Mary E. Williams) These effects alter the victim’s life severely and can interfere with their day to day life and relationships. Being raped is a horrific crime that no woman should ever have to endure. In many cases victims of rape may become impregnated by the perpetrator leaving the victim to another form of violation. According to the Alan Guttmacher Institute, at least 9,100 abortions each year are attributed to pregnancies that occur because of forced sexual intercourse. (Irin Carmon)
Through every choice in life, there is a decision that must follow. Abortion is a woman’s individual choice; therefore, must be a legal part in todays society. Individual rights have an outstanding role in the controversial topic, on whether abortion should become legal in the United States . The individual rights for abortion show rights of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. As well, women should be able to have the choice to choose to have an abortion for several important reasons. The right to make these decisions should lie in the hands of the “mother” to make decisions concerning their own to make decisions concerning their own bodies. In addition, women should be given the choice to have an abortion if they are too young and unable to take care their child financially or emotionally. Additionally, the right to have an abortion is if the pregnancy negatively affects the woman's or the baby's health. Without abortions as a choice for the “mother” to resort to while she is going through hardship on deciding whether to keep the baby or not, the endless possibilities could negatively influence the mother to put her and the baby in a dangerous positions.
