Should Gay Marriage Be Legal?
Macklamore and Ryan Lewis’s music supports a lot of different things. They rap about lots of things. They could always stick to the status quote and rap about money, girls and fame but instead they choose to write their music about topics that actually matter to Americans. Macklamore, and Ryan Lewis’s music has up bringing beats about human rights and wanting to see people equal. Although he sees every human being as being equal, his mission through his writing and singing is to have people change their point of view and to have the government change their laws to allow two people of the same-sex, two women, or two men to get married.
As of August 19th, 2013 as many as fifteen countries such as Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland and other countries as well as several subnational jurisdictions, such as parts of Mexico and the United States, allow same-sex marriage. Although only eighteen states in the Unites States allow same-sex marriage. Those who support it goals are to have worldwide legalization of same-sex marriage.

Abstract On June 26, 2015 a divided Supreme Court ruled in the landmark case Obergefell v. Hodges that same-sex couples could now marry nationwide. The United States of America, as a whole, has pushed for rights and equality for any and all people. Gay rights and racial equality have received an ample amount of support as well as opposition. Even bringing up the other side’s argument may cause a debate in almost any environment. Today, Americans are easily offended by things that don’t agree with what they believe. America is full of passionate people who always have a cause to fight for or against. In conclusion, same sex marriage is not a problem; the problem is how we can live together with it. I’m a Christian so basically, I don’t support gay marriage but when I think about human right, I feel it is not a dangerous problem for us. If they love each other, let them marry and they will solve that problem by themselves. Who knows after gay law is passed, no one want to marry with same sex person any more. So just let it is solve by itself.

There was a polling done in 2001 and American opposed same-sex marriage by 57% to 35%. Overtime same-sex message has become more accepted. Since then there has been a poll of 57% support same-sex marriage, compared with the 35% who oppose it. It has been above 50% consistently since then. Now more people support than oppose same-sex marriage and the reason on June 2015, same sex marriage has become legal. It was said that age has been and will continue to be a defining line on the issue of Attitude on same sex marriages based on gender. As Americans our country was founded on freedom that means any couple should have the right to get married no matter what gender. 1989 San Francisco domestic partnership Laws are passed. This was denied to them before this, A domestic partnership is an interpersonal relationship between two individuals who live together and share a common domestic life but are not married. There are hundreds of thousands if not millions of people who are against same sex marriage and homosexuality. The number one reason most people are against gay marriage and homosexuality is because it goes against their religious beliefs. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard “God made Adam and Eve…not Adam and Steve.” I’d be rich. Christians are the number one religious group against same sex marriage. They constantly say homosexuality is an abomination. They believe that gives them the right to pass judgment on others. It is clearly stated in the bible that you are not to judge others. Christians are contradicting themselves.

Gay and lesbian unions have been for a long time a subject that no one liked to discuss. For the last few decades, gays and lesbians have come out and expressed their sexuality preferences. Many believe that same sex marriage should not be legalized because it's against the moral. It's against the definition of marriage, which is considered as the union of a man and a woman as a husband and wife. Same sex marriage should be legalized because the way society views the union of lesbian and gays can a change. Another reason why same sex marriage should be legalized is that children that are issued from a gay or lesbian couple will be loved and raised in a family that is legally recognized under the law. Lesbians and gays also deserve to have the same rights as heterosexuals.
On June 26, 2015, the US Supreme Court ruled that the US Constitution guarantees the right for same-sex couples to marry. Should gay marriages be legal? Clearly we as a nation are undecided on this issue. Thirty-six states have passed legislation banning gay marriages, yet a few states have passed laws that allows homosexual couples the right to participate in civil unions. Several other states are also debating whether or not to allow these couples to marry. Unfortunately, the dispute has left the United States' homosexual community in an awkward position. There are some people who think that gay people have no rights and should never be allowed to marry, and others believe that gay people should enjoy the same rights and privileges as heterosexuals. I think that the United States should allow same-sex couples to marry just like heterosexual couples.
In conclusion I argue that banning same-sex marriage is discriminatory. It is discriminatory because it denies homosexuals the many benefits received by heterosexual couples. The right to marriage in the United States has little to do with the religious and spiritual meaning of marriage. It has a lot to do with social justice, extending a civil right to a minority group. This is why I argue for same-sex marriage. The freedom to marry regardless of gender preference should be allowed.
