Should Gay Marriage Be Legal?
Macklamore and Ryan Lewis’s music supports a lot of different things. They rap about lots of things. They could always stick to the status quote and rap about money, girls and fame but instead they choose to write their music about topics that actually matter to Americans. Macklamore, and Ryan Lewis’s music has up bringing beats about human rights and wanting to see people equal. Although he sees every human being as being equal, his mission through his writing and singing is to have people change their point of view and to have the government change their laws to allow two people of the same-sex, two women, or two men to get married.
As of August 19th, 2013 as many as fifteen countries such as Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland and other countries as well as several subnational jurisdictions, such as parts of Mexico and the United States, allow same-sex marriage. Although only eighteen states in the Unites States allow same-sex marriage. Those who support it goals are to have worldwide legalization of same-sex marriage.
Although our President doesn’t believe in same-sex marriage, our government is stating to come around to the idea of it. “In a new milestone for gay rights, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. will issue a directive expanding government recognition of same-sex marriages to all federal courtrooms and prisons, and some federal benefits programs. (LA Times).
