Euthanasia: The Right to Die Thousands of individuals die every day. Euthanasia would allow terminally ill individuals to end their suffering; to end their life. Euthanasia is not any different than taking a patient off a ventilator, or taking away necessary life support. Although some argue that not all doctors are qualified to properly evaluate whether or not patients are eligible for physician-assisted suicide, legalizing euthanasia will allow individuals the autonomy to make life decisions, give individuals proper support systems, and to relieve themselves from intolerable pain. This organization was founded partially by individuals connected to the AIDS epidemic. Many of the supporters and individuals involved had personally been involved with those suffering; violent deaths and injuries traumatizing surrounding family and friends. The goal was to help individuals who were considering violent deaths to end their life in a more peaceful manner, “These were people who were on the front lines at the height of the AIDS epidemic.
