College tuition should be free in the United States, in order to compete with the rest of the world in every sphere, including (but not limited to) economics, business, politics, science and technology. If a single person cannot afford education only because of financial reasons, it is a failure of the nation. People now live in a highly competitive, global economy, and if the economy needs to be strong, best-educated workforce is the first requirement. America will have a stronger economy and a sturdier democracy when all ambitious and talented young people can reach their full potential, and this can only be acquired by making the college education available for all citizens irrespective to their financial status. In order to have the best-educated workforce in the world, making the college tuition free can create possibilities to lead a more prosperous and equitable America, with more responsible and educated citizens. Education will help citizens with a better job, better life choices and better future. This will indirectly boost the economy of the country. A better workforce will be created to serve the nation and a greater benefit will be realized.
Education in one of the basic needs and should be available to all, regardless of anyone’s financial situation. A recent study from the Pell Institute showed that only 9% of students from the lower income families obtain a bachelor’s degree by age 24, compared to 77% wealthiest (Kelly 2015). If all the students have the money to complete their college degree and get a job according to their qualification, they will always have a chance to pay back to their college, to the society and after all, to the whole nation. Also they will be able to attain their bachelor’s degr...

... dollars loan from a student. Also students with a better job position and higher salary will always have a chance to pay back the college by donating money or raising funds.
Some people do not want to get into college after high school and study forever for good reasons. These people usually have lower grades in high school or just unwilling to study. But people with a college degree usually makes more money and have more job opportunity than the people who have not earned a college degree. These people contribute to the science, technology, politics and business more effectively than the people without a college degree. And a lot of willing students cannot afford a college degree because of their financial insufficiency. So, without any doubt, removing the barrier of enormous amount of tuition can go a long way for future developed and progressed America.
In our American society it is the role of the president to devise plans that will benefit our society as a whole. He might suggest that he has this plan to solve global warming our maybe he has concerns with the way a certain policy should be. Like presidents of the past president Obama has concerns and changes of his own he would like to put into place. Community colleges offer a wide range of degrees for cutting edge technical careers in today 's industries that help bridge opportunities to higher economic class. President Obama hopes to put into action policy that would make community college free to productive members of our American society this is an issue that merits a careful evaluation at both sides of the argument.
"Parents with incomes below $40,000 were much more likely to say they couldn 't afford college compared to those with higher incomes. The unsettling aspect of this poll is that in all likelihood, these parents ' perceptions mirror reality," says Tamara Draut, author of "Strapped”. She talks about how most middle class families can 't afford to put their children into college. The highest education they can get is a high school diploma, which we all know in this modern world it cant get you a lucrative job to maintain your whole life. Most American don 't get the chance to develop their full capabilities through higher schooling due to lack of resources like funds to enable them see their full potential. People will say that education is meant for people who can afford to go. And already the government has made schooling from pre-k to high school free for all public school, so making community colleges free will cost the state about 60 billion dollars as said by the white house spokesman Eric Schultz . Education must not be limited to only privilege people,it should be universal for anybody willing to educate themselves to make their life better and help grow Americas economy reducing
College is one of the most fundamental institutions in our modern world. It is a place where most of our future politicians, doctors, scientists, and leaders are made. Though, it seems that the price tag that comes with a college education is something that is too hefty for some students. Countless debates go on about whether the price of college should be abolished or whether the cost still is on the students to pay for.
Why should we be allowed to have the opportunity to have free higher education or decrease the cost of it? Going to college should be our right and cost of tuition should not affect our decision on whether to go or not. The ability to have free higher education with little or no cost can open the door and create many great different paths for us. The more education we have, the more opportunities grow, but that can’t happen to all of us due to tuition costs or even being in debt with loans for not being able to have the money to being with. With tuition being eliminated or decreased, people would attend college more not saying a lot would, but just the fact that more people would consider college. Germany abolished tuition which provides a model for the United
There are many families were not able for the chance of college because they could not afford it. An example of this, happened to the Morais family. Richard Morais’s daughter got accepted into John Hopkins University. The whole family was happy, but with the acceptance letter was the cost for all of the expenses. All of the expenses came out to be a total of $54,470 dollars. Financial aid only paid for $6000 which left the family to pay $48,470. This caused the family to take out student loans to allow the daughter to go to college. With her taking out the loans she will graduate being $200,000 in
As you can see, there are more drawbacks than benefits to free college tuition once you look past the surface of it. Like I said before, at a glance, it seems perfect, flawless. However, take a deeper look and see all of the things that would need to change in order to sustain nationwide tuition-free higher education. It is not as simple as it sounds, student debt may go down, but how many other people are we putting in debt to make up for the loss of funding going to schools through the tuition that we have
If college became fee, an economic class gap would be closed in education. In other words, free college would promote equality between the poor and the wealthy. This statement seems unreasonable, but there is logic behind it. There will still have to be people performing the jobs that college graduates do not pursue. However, there is still a great number of low economic class people that would like, and have
Making College Tuition Cheaper I believe that college tuition should be cheaper for everyone no matter what economic level your family is in. College tuition should be very affordable for everyone, so everyone has a chance to get an education without being in debt. There are kids and adults all over the country and world that would love to go to college. Should universities turn down people because they can't afford it? Of course there are numerous scholarships, financial aids, and loans available, but sometimes they don't help everyone out that much because the average family can’t fully support the child going to college, and make a living comfortably in residence.
As stated earlier, the cost of college is too high and it needs to be reduced to a more reasonable amount. It is expected that young adults in this day in age would want to go to college or another post-secondary education school to receive higher learning and to somewhat better their lives. While this is true ...
While the idea of free college is often seen as beneficial only to the wealthy, college should be free for everyone because going to college could once again be seen as a choice instead of a financial problem for many households, people could also better understand others that come from different backgrounds, and there are more
Although education can be expensive, an affordable education makes better citizens. In fact, most people believe that going to college improves the chance of finding a great job, but the effect on society is often not considered. Seeking a higher education, often seems too expensive and the paperwork too complex, therefore many people do not consider attending. In the article “Here’s your Crisis: Student Loan Debt Isn’t a Myth”, Chris Lewis and Layla Zaidane commented “it 's an affordability crisis”(). As our nation ages, education must become more affordable for all because with educated citizens our country becomes financially sound, our citizens become more knowledgeable and their communication skills are better developed.
A college education is necessary today in society. Students can focus on their academics and try to get a high score. The cost of education for each student has become more difficult to afford. Thus, many students and teachers wonder if free college tuition must be granted. Free education must be responsible and funded by the U.S. government because it will help students focus on their studies, and encourage them to work harder in school. Even thought many people think that education must be free, it is very important for many reasons such as the economy, quality of education, and value of a college degree.
Clearly, the merits of having free higher education outweigh the drawbacks in immeasurable ways, benefiting the individual learners, states, and the nation at large. Having education in higher education free to all would ensure that every citizen get an equal opportunity in life regardless of their social status, it would allow people to concentrate on nation-building rather than loan payment after school, it would make the nation skill-sufficient and all citizens be more productive. Most importantly, education is a basic right that everyone deserves and money should not be a hindrance, thus, education should be free for all.
Yes, I strongly believe that college education should be free for everyone because Education is a basic necessity of our society these days. Free education wouldn’t just benefit one generation or one society but it can benefit the whole nation. If a nation is educated, then it can benefit the whole country and it can get better job opportunities for its citizens because in today’s world we can see highly paid jobs are knowledge based or require advanced technical skills. So in my opinion more educated nation would help remove all those flaws which are keeping country’s economy from growing rapidly. If the education is free in college then it can help a lot of those students who got good grades in their high schools but could not get into the college because of their financial situation. This way these kind of needy students who deserves to get a good degree and basically these students are future of America but they could not get it through
Fees and loans are too big of a load for young people to carry. A lot of students drop out do to the pressure of having to worry about all the loans they have to pay back after they are done with college. This should not be an issue to the student. According Iatham Emmmons, “Even worse, a large portion of students never receive funding at all due to the multitude of stipulations that must be adhered to in order to qualify for assistance. A major flaw in the current federal educational assistance programs is that the students’ parents’ income is used to calculate financial need” (Emmons 3). Even citizens who try to get help by applying for funding never end up getting it because they do not meet the needs required for the funding. Education should be p...
