What is the correct opinion to have on capital punishment? Capital punishment has been around since 1700 BC stated by a legal document from ancient Babylonia (modern-day Iraq). The document contained the first known death penalty laws. Under the code, twenty-five crimes were punishable by death. These crimes included adultery and helping slaves escape, but not murder. There are many opinions on the death penalty. Some say that it is not humane in any circumstance. Others say that is is okay in certain circumstances. Then there is the select few that say capital punishment should be used all the time, because we don’t need criminals in our world. Some people think that the death penalty is only given to black people.
