What good are you to this world if you just keep on consuming? Do you remember the days when apples and strawberries used to be called fruits? But really, what should Apple and Samsung products be called nowadays? Of course its technological advancement, but where is it leading our society? Well, some of us often become tired of our belongings then, we feel the want for new products, and that is the reason why companies fabricate new products! Honestly, so much has changed from previous generation, but nothing has really really changed! Society expects too much of us, to dress certain ways, own the most up to date products, we are merely becoming slaves of the term materialism! The only real difference between the two is size. Yet, they are the largest and thinnest iphone model that Apple have manufactured within the past. The two new releases have some great qualities. First, The talk time on the iphone 6 plus is up to 24 hours, but 14 hours on the iphone 6 which means how long the phone will function until it runs out of power. The iphone 5S, the previous model talk time is only up to 10 hours, they only added 4 hours to the iphone 6. It is definitely change but it is not as a significant change as to adding 10 extra hours battery life to the iphone 6 plus. That makes it a fantastic quality because consumer will notice and they will purchase the iphone 6 plus instead of the iphone 6. Technological Advances vs. Human Values Technological advances occur all around, whizzing by, while human values change little and at a much slower pace. Commercially bottled water stands as just one of a sundry of items that human technology has conjured up over the years. It seems as though the average person can not go through a day without seeing a symbol of this phenomenon, whether it is a vending machine, an empty container lying in the gutter, or a person clutching a plastic bottle in their hand. Also an ever-present technological advance is the cellular phone, "can you hear me now? " It is almost a guarantee that during the course of a class period, a ringtone or the buzzing of the vibrating mode will shake the air.
Apple has transformed from a computer genius to a powerhouse of all technology. “Jobs’ genius was in impressing his visions upon people,” and with each new advice the amazement of Apple followers strengthened (“Apple Computers”). Apple has created an illusion of a perfect society. With greater, more advanced technology, people believe that the world can only continue getting better. Customers have bought so mentally into Apples mission that they cringe at seeing someone using another device brand. Not only does Apple create an easier way to get everyday tasks complete, they make it look good too, “Jobs played a directive role at Apple in the development of products that were both elegant and tasteful” (“Apple llc Computer”). In today’s society the people are brainwashed by advancements which portray nothing less than a picture-perfect society, a
Apple has its competitors, as it is expected, and they do not fall behind by much. One of its biggest competitors is the company Samsung. For years, those two companies have been head to head in the electronical world. All over the web one can find all sorts of articles talking about the conflicts of those two companies and about how they each claim that the other one took their products and just changed its name. But thankfully, those two companies are still strong (no matter how much people complain about the other one) and they both have a lot of people supporting them. There are two sides when talking about phone and electronics: the Apple side and the Samsung side. Now, what those two companies need to be careful about is to not let their guards down and allow the competition to take over, but then again, Apple is well... Apple and they would never let that happen (they have not done it for almost 50 years, they would not do it
Today in society new things are being created every second. The question is how does humanity keep up with the continual rate of new technology? Dave Barry in his article A GPS Helps a Guy Always know Where His Couch is, discusses the desire for men to have the latest “gadgets” that are released. Also Barry's article compares the desire to have technology between men and women. Barry’s article will allow me to reflect on modern society today in terms of technology being accurately compared to the way he describes it in his article.
“Our Future Selves” by Eric Schmidt and Jared Cohen construct views on countries’ technologies that changes the world on a daily basis. Conversely, technologies reconstruct countries in various simpler ways to live throughout economic trends. Furthermore, the quality of life is massively changing with new technologies. In addition, there are many customers who camp outside either the Apple store or their phone company store for days, just to get a hold of one. One thing many don’t realize is that its literally the same phone as previous ones. Thousands of people seriously think they’re paying for a new phone with better adjustments than the previous iPhone, instead of paying for a newly developed phone with a stronger iOS system and better features, not just little simple improvements. They end up paying for a phone that’s similar to the previous one.
In today's world, technology is constantly changing from a new paperclip to an improvement in hospital machinery. Technology lets people improve the way they live so that they can preserve their own personal energy and focus on the really important factors in life. Some people focus their energy on making new innovations to improve transportation and the health of people that may save lives and some people focus on making new designs of packaging CDS. Technology is significant in everyone's life because it rapidly changes what is in the market. But, some new innovations of technology are ridiculous because they serve no purpose in helping mankind.
The demand for the mobile phone was through the roof, and technology then became a little more advanced, releasing the 'Smart Phone'. The Smart Phone is quite more complex than a mobile phone. There are more features like cameras, home landlines, touch screen access and things like such. This is a great prosper for our societies businesses and networking companies, but it has also gotten quite out of hand with todays generation. Some people see the constant advancement of technology as a good thing, but is it really?
...This frontier has reaped major benefits for their competitors in the Android market with a wide range of products targeting all income groups. Apple has begun the foray into developing products for lower income groups with the production of the iPhone 5c which is priced cheaper than it’s flagship product the iPhone 5s. A further advancement in that direction would reap major benefits for Apple. This second concern deals with a mixture of place and product in the marketing mix. Apple offers its operating system exclusively to Apple products and its unquestioned the success of that strategy, however, it must be said there exists a potential and real prospect of complete Apple domination of the software industry if it were to allow its operating system to float onto to other hardware providers in much the similar manner in which Microsoft has benefited greatly from.
