Along with this, we all share some key principles/norms and among one of them is "the right to live". Murder is considered illegal because it go against this widely accepted norm and puts an end to life. This is where a dilemma is created in which Abortion is a form of murder, so it also infringes on the right to live. According to Don Bekich outline of Don Marquis article why abortion is immoral because "not only does abortion ends life but it also robs the child of a future, and dreams like ours" (http://www.qcc.cuny.edu/SocialSciences/ppecorino/MEDICAL_ETHICS_TEXT/Chapter_8_Abortion/Reading_Marquis_Why_Abortion_Immoral.htm). As individuals we all went through similar process of being conceived and have the same possibilities the moment we are born, so is an unborn child not supposed to have the same? Regardless of religious believe, there is no denying that abortion due to its nature of murder is amongst the most immoral actions a human being can possibly
Abortion, like any other medical procedure, carries some risks. When one considers, however, that “the risk of death associated with childbirth is about 10 times as high as that associated with abortion” (“Know the Facts”), the threat of abortion suddenly does not seem as perilous. Additionally, contrary to popular misconception, abortion does not contribute to future infertility or development of breast cancer. It is therefore safer and more prudent to have an abortion than an unwanted pregnancy.

Unsafe abortion is a significant cause of maternal morality and injury in the world. Most of the unsafe abortions occur in countries where abortion is illegal or in majority of developing countries where well-trained medical practitioners are not readily available.
As one knows, some unwanted pregnancies could often be harmful and distressing for a woman. Women should have the right over their body to choose to sustain the fetus or not. In the past decades, women did not have their freedom of abortion in many countries of the world. There have always been controversies going on about abortion. Each individual has dissimilar views on the legality of abortion. Some people are against abortion for personal religious purposes and beliefs. For those who don’t believe in abortion, it is because they see it as killing a fetus, which is a human being. Others support abortion because they believe in women’s rights. Laws of abortion vary in each country, and abortion is not legal all over the world. It is illegal under any conditions but only permitted to save woman’s life if in countries such as Brazil, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, and Ireland. Abortion is a voluminous topic today all around the world. Differing viewpoints on abortion are recognized in politics, religion, and throughout the general population. There is a small amount of people who are nonchalant on the subject. Women have abortions for many different reasons and according to certain groups these reasons are either justified or not. Everyone tends to have their own articulated opinion, and many vocalize tenaciously what they believe. Pro-life individuals along with religion are sanguine that abortion is ethically and morally erroneous. Whereas those who are pro-choice say that abortion is inconsequential and the mother’s choice is more important than the fetus. Reasons to not get an abortion include risks involved in receiving an abortion. In some cases death can occur. However, there are other alternatives to abortion. For example, raising the child and adoption.
Each year there is 44 million abortions in the world. Abortion first happened in the 1800s in Western Europe, it has been around in every corner of the world for the past years. Abortion became a “thing” to prevent suffering of the mother and her future child. After the 1800’s that 's when many people began to think of abortion as cruel and inhumane. After making abortion legal in the United States it became one of the most controversial issues ever. Due to abortion being one of the most controversial topics ever it has caused disagreements with the pro-life and pro-choice supporters. Pro Life means that you are against abortion while pro choice means that you agree with abortion. Abortion is the terminating of a pregnancy by removing a fetus
Abortion has been a huge issue in the United States ever since Roe v. Wade. Roe v. Wade was a supreme court case that allowed women to have an abortion because it was a woman 's right to her own privacy. After this supreme court case, they made restriction on abortion. According to Abortion Procedures During First, Second and Third Trimester (2016) , in some states women can’t have an abortion after her third trimester or when the baby can survive outside the womb. Even though we have restrictions towards abortion the amount of babies aborted are very high. According to Jones and Kooistra (2011), in the United States twenty-three out of one hundred pregnant women choose to have an abortion rather than to keep the baby. Abortions have become more and more common. We have become insensitive toward abortion and
Women for centuries have conformed themselves to the viewpoints and stereotypical outlooks society has on them. Their subservient nature to the male species has been detrimental to both their health as well as their independent rights. An ongoing issue women have been facing is the right to a safe and legal abortion. There is an underlining issue when a woman cannot choose what is best for herself as a human being when faced with such a difficult decision to undergo such a traumatic procedure. The pro-choice movement pushes for the legal rights of women to decide their fate, to prevent any further risks of undergoing illegal abortions, and their reproductive freedom.
Abortion has been a controversial topic in the U.S ever since it became legal in 1973 after the Roe v. Wade case. Abortion is defined as the, “the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy.” Pro-life supporters believe that abortion is unethical and argue that it is the mother’s responsibility to own up to her actions. They also argue that there is always the option of adoption, and that abortion could be very dangerous. I am pro-life and believe that the government doesn’t have the right to decide what a woman can or can’t do with her body.
The procedure causes health complications for the mother, inflicts pain on a living fetus, and kills the unborn baby. Late-term abortion induces innumerable physical health complications to the patient, including severe infections, extreme bleeding, and damage to the uterus. In addition, one analysis, in relation to abortion problems, states, “from 1988 to 1997 found the risk of death increased by 38% for each additional week of gestation, during the pregnancy.” (Jones).
Women should have the right to decide whether or not they would like to have an abortion. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines abortion as; “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus.” The idea of a woman’s right to have an abortion being taken away is merely incomprehensible.
For years Abortion has been a topic of discussion. It has always been a topic that was controversial in both religion as well as in politics. For those who may not know what abortion is abortion is a procedure that is done on women to end a pregnancy, with that it will not result into the women going into labor or giving birth to the child. In this paper I will go into the details of the issue, seeing the issue from different views, and offering possible solutions to the issue.
The topic of abortion is a highly controversial topic. About half of the population is against abortion. It is said that forty-six percent of people believe that abortion should be legal in most case, while forty-four percent of people say that abortion should almost always be illegal.(Pappas, 2012) This split has slowly been decreasing as there have been laws and religious views that have changed the way people view abortion. While it is seen as morally incorrect to some, many others find it is the right of the woman to decide to keep the baby or kill it. To some, abortion is seen as the right of a woman to do with her own body as she pleases. To some others, abortion is seen as a homicide and the murder of a helpless life. This is the case
Abortion has been one of the most talked about topics in society just about anywhere from television, magazines, whether or not it should be the right or wrong thing to do. Abortion is a very sensitive issue to discuss, because of its nature. Many people have said that abortion is a very bad thing to do and it should not even be choice whether or not to abort a living fetus. People think that abortion is committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. However, others feel that a woman should have a voice and have the right to choose to keep the child or not and that it is not murder until the baby is born. Majority of individuals who believe that abortion is bad say that the fetus is human who is partly being formed and to have an abortion is considered to be murder. For the people who think an abortion is ok, say that it’s not considered murder unless the child is born. I believe that abortion should be seen in which the stage the fetus is in. if the fetus is in an early stage of pregnancy it is not considered murder, but if the fetus has already began to develop into a larger fetus then it is indeed considered to be murder. There are times when abortion can be accepted, if the mother is having complications due to pregnancy. For example if the mother is enduring complications in her pregnancy that can harm her, because of the child in that case it is ok to perform an abortion to help save the mother’s life. It is also very important to understand this type of situation. The mother has the right to have an abortion and it is her decision because a mother knows best about her health conditions.
