Abortion Should NOT Be Legal

Ever since 1973, when the court case Roe v. Wade came about, there has been a debate on abortion. The first side to this case, the liberal side, believes that women have the right to control their own bodies. Then, the conservative side believes that every life should be protected and human life begins at the moment of conception. Along with having two totally different viewpoints there are also some gray areas in which both sides aren't really sure of such as- the use of birth control pills, morning after pills, private-abortion pills, and educated abortions. Abortion should not be legal, due to life beginning at the moment of conception. A writer from Los Angeles Times made a valid point when saying that the requirements to have an abortion were an “ unconsiderable interference” (“The Right To Choose”). Many tests, two physicians visits and legally waiting 72 hours before anything can be done are hassles in any one of our busy lives. But wait! Now abortion has been made easier for those with unwanted pregnancies. A glass of water, some pills, waiting with a spouse or significant other, depression, cramping, bleeding, pain, and then finally the end of a pregnancy (“On Their Own Terms”). Women who don’t want to be pregnant can just easily end a life without any trouble besides the possibility of becoming infertile, and the side effects listed above. This pill is called RU-486; it does not require any huge doctors bills, no one starring as the woman walk into the clinic, no judgement because no one knows. Abortion is a sensitive and touchy topic for many young women; most of them cannot even recall when abortion was not safe(“Health Bill Covers Abortion Issues”).
