Abortion is the termination of an unborn child in its mother 's womb for up to twenty four weeks of pregnancy or in special circumstances such as disability diagnosis which is a termination where abortion can take place right up until the mother goes into labour. The above definition is an easier and less harsh way of saying that abortion is the murder of a human being. Abortion is wrong and not to be mistaken with the fact that 'Abortion should be made illegal. ' I will explain later why I have made this statement.

When these kids know that there is always the backup solution of abortion it makes them feel as if their wrongs can always be turned right as they please. Thus, it is crucial that sex education should be taught by all gym teachers and the course of sex education should be a mandatory class. I believe that this is not true and that that this fetus is still a human being. It states in Jeremiah 1:5 that “Before you were formed in the body of your mother, I had knowledge of you, and before birth I made you holy, I have given you the work of being a prophet to the nations..” This passage clearly states that an unborn child is still a human. It was also argued in 1967 that if abortion was not made legal then abortion would be carried out dangerously in back alley clinics as they were called but not everybody would want to risk disease and other scenarios that can harm their body through such a process.
In conclusion, abortion should be made illegal but other smart options to avoid pregnancy should be more available to people. Impregnating used to be a decision not a mistake and I believe being wise with your choices can avoid all the mistakes. I believe that if abortion is legal it should only be allowed only in the circumstances of rape. Lastly, abortion should be severely discouraged and that the world should always remember Mother Teresa 's words “We should combat abortion with
According to St. Thomas Aquinas, Catholic priest and philosopher, a fetus is not a human being because it does not possess language or articulated thought - one of the defining aspects of human nature (qtd. in Eco 51). Theoretically speaking, a fetus is not a human until it can think and talk. With that being clarified, the rest of the essay will first include arguments for, and then arguments against, abortion. Karen Pazol, et al.
As portrayed in the evidence above a women’s right to abortion should be legal as becoming pregnant is a big deal. Women sometimes cannot control their bodies as they get into situations that are not their fault, like rape. Even though women sometimes could avoid getting into situations that
How would you feel if someone took away your ability to live and have a future? You wouldn't have the opportunity to crawl, take your first step, have your first kiss, or experience those butterflies in your stomach at the sight of first love. Millions of special moments, a life, shredded to pieces. This is essentially what abortion does. Abortion is not the answer in the case of an unplanned pregnancy and needs to be stopped! First of all, abortion is a type of unnecessary murder that occurs in inhumane ways and cannot be tolerated. Moreover, there are alternatives to abortion and many families who are looking to adopt. Lastly, the side effects of abortion can cause life threatening health risks to the mother. Excuses will always be made, but the bottom line is that abortion is not acceptable and should be stopped.
Abortions have been a much known topic for the century in the United States. It is a topic that has been debated on whether or not it should be illegal. Some people think that to have an abortion is a sin. Some think that women who abort children are evil, and are murderers. Often they do not understand the reason on why babies are aborted. It requires our immediate attention because each day and year, there are many children that are aborted and less babies that are able for adoption. Soon to be mothers are often affected by this problem. Abortions should be outlawed all together. There needs to be a solution to this problem.
As defined by the Merriam- Webster dictionary, abortion is “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by resulting in or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus as a spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during
The words of an unborn baby are ones that almost no one ever thinks of, or hears. One of this country's most controversial topics is abortion. However, if one sees the constitutional infringement to women by the restriction of abortion; the torment to the unwanted child; and the anguish society has to sustain, then this topic would not be so debatable. Too many people do not see the effect that abortions cause. It is a very dangerous offence that affects the mother, father, the community, and most importantly, the fetus, and that is why abortion should be illegal in Canada. First, abortion is against God’s law in many Holy books such as the Bible and the Quran. Secondly, abortion does not only affect the individual, but the community as a whole, and the rights of those people are infringed on. However, abortion does nothing in the cases of rape, or women’s rights, which is the constant argument people in favour of abortion argue. And lastly, abortion should be seen for what it is, murder.
In order for the pro-life argument to be valid, it must have both a true premise and true conclusion. It falls short of validity by assuming that a fetus up to 22 weeks old is a person, and has its own rights independent of its host, or what we often refer to as its mother. First we must recognize the subtle, yet extremely important distinction between a human being and a person. It is obvious that a fetus is a member of the human ...
But, there are many differences between an actual person and a fetus. First of all, a fetus is completely dependent on the mother. Fetus’s need their mothers in order to be fed correctly, to live in a stable environment, and to grow and expand among many other things. Because the fetus cannot survive on its own, then it does not qualify as a human being. In addition, a fetus that is still inside the womb is only a potential person. The fetus resides inside of the mother, and thus is part of the mother herself until it is born. Another difference between a fetus and a person is that a person can feel pain. Anti abortionist commonly argue that abortion is wrong because it would cause pain to the fetus. But, according to Mark Rosen, an obstetrical anesthesiologist at the University of California at San Francisco, “the wiring at the point where you feel pain, such as the skin, doesn’t reach the emotional part where you feel pain, in the brain.” Furthermore, the thalamus does not form until week 28 of the pregnancy. So, no information, including pain, can reach the cortex in the brain for processing. These facts prove that a fetus would not be affected by the mother’s choice of having an abortion, thus proving Marquis and all other anti-abortionists wrong.
Many also argue that it is a woman 's right to choose whether or not she wants to have a child and no matter what it is her body and nobody else should be concerned with what she decides to do with her body. So now the question still remains should abortion be legal say I will be analyzing this topic in discussing my views on abortion, pro-life, and pro-choice. So what is abortion? Abortion according to Webster dictionary it is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy.
Abortion by definition means the way of ending pregnancy by removing fetus from the womb before it is able to survive independently. Abortion is an extremely debatable issue because while some people are completely against it, others believe that a woman should have the right to choose. Abortion decision is like killing own child or killing an innocent human life before coming out from uterus. I will explain how a human life is being destroyed, the process in which they destroy the fetus, and how to avoid this situation all together I believe that abortion is morally impermissible.
Kerby Anderson’s “A Biblical View of Abortion,” shows the aspect of abortion from the point of view of the Holy Bible. Anderson says that no where in the Bible does it actually say that abortion is wrong, just only that it was the unthinkable. It was said that children were viewed as a gift or heritage from the Lord. Also the scriptures said that God was the one opens and closes the womb. And it was said to be a curse to be without a child. Anderson mentions that David has a relationship with God while he was developing and growing before birth. David was also seen as “God’s creative work within his mother’s womb” (Anderson). He also says that if a woman is to give birth and the baby dies, or is stillborn, then the law of relation is used. “A baby inside the womb is treated as a baby outside the womb” (Anderson). Anderson uses examples and passages from the Holy Bible to show evidence that the Bible is against abortion, and so is Anderson.
The unborn entity surviving inside the mother’s womb is a complete human being and 14 days after the fertilization gastrulation begins which is the initial stage of appearance of spinal column in an embryo (Powell, 2016). Powell (2016) argued that the fertilization is the milestone of personhood, thus the unborn entity should be treated as a person and abortion cannot be morally justifiable. Similarly, some may claim that the appearance of a blood in the embryo begins the personhood. These biological views regarding the personhood does not support the termination of pregnancy because an unborn human entity is a person and has a right to life. Therefore, abortion is an example of killing and ending a human life and it is never morally or ethically
Abortion is one of America’s most controversial subjects. The participants in this debate have fixed beliefs on the matter at hand. On one side of the debate are people who believe in pro- choice. They argue that choice of a woman is more important than an unborn fetus. They point out that an unborn child is not on the same level of importance as the mother. Also, the pro-life group declares that choice is the sole purpose behind their argument. They believe that if a woman cannot chose to abolish a pregnancy, then she looses one of her basic human rights. The other side of the debate is the pro-life group. Their main concern is that the fetus is a person; therefore, having the same human rights as the mother. As a result, when states pass laws that enable abortions, these states are legalizing murder. When considering an individual’s ethics and values, killing is morally wrong. Therefore, the termination of unborn children is wrong, as well. Abortion, the unethical expulsion of an embryo or fetus, in order to purposely end a pregnancy, should be forbidden because human life begins at conception, economics is not a justification for abortion, and an unwanted child does not justify abortion.
I believe there are five3 main ways of preventing abortion and this is why it is wrong and should be illegal. My first point that concerns the prevention abortion is contraception could be made more easily available. I believe that this is the best and most effective way of reducing abortion because the fact is that it is not as accessible as it could be and that a large population does not know how to use contraceptives. My second point is that sex education should be taught properly by a teacher or that teenagers should be made to take a course which explains all the aspects of sex and pregnancy. Research tells that a large number of teenagers do not know how reproduction works or even know what is going on in their bodies.
First, I feel that abortion should be illegal because it can result in medical complications and also psychological trauma. It can cause premature birth and could also cause a baby to be handicapped in future pregnancies. A woman who has had an abortion is 2.3 times more likely to get cervical, ovarian, and or liver cancer. Abortion is the cause of 47,000 woman’s death yearly. It can cause depression for at
