The incoming December 2012 or “The Shift” will be faced with fears and chaos to people who believed that the earth will be going into a phase of destruction and reconstruction. The phase is said required our earth to be demolished and destroyed before the process of reconstruction the earth is started,Lonecryer(2010).One of the factors that contributed into the destruction of the earth that has to be taken into account is global warming. The term global warming refers to the rise in the average temperature of the planet, due to the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere as a result of various natural and human activities, David(2009).Nowadays, mankind have to face the reality that the earth is severely suffering due to the global warming impacts. Thus, researchers and scientists from all across the world conduct thousands of experiment to find the “cure”to this catastrophic issue. In the field of transportation, scientists believed that the hybrid technology is the best solution to be combined with transportations and thus can slower the effect of global warming and possibly that “The Shift” can be prevented. This type of transportation is chose to be the solution of global warming because it has many advantages like they are using less power consumption, emitting lower emissions and reducing green house effects.
To start with, the first advantage of using hybrid transportations is they consume less fuel. The hybrid vehicle typically achieves greater fuel economy than conventional internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEVs).The secret to this technology lies on the designation of the engine. Hybrid cars are designed to rely on both the engine and the electric motors for peak power needs, resulting in a smaller engine ...

...r because hybrid cars change the kinetic energy into electricity. Thus, the heat from hybrid cars is less emitted.
To conclude, the advantages of using the hybrid transportations are helping green house effects reductions, reducing hazardous gasses and using less power consumption than a normal conventional car. We must change our transportation policy if we are to address rising dependence on crude oil and greenhouse gas emissions. Avoiding serious climate change will almost certainly require a significant reduction in projected world transportation greenhouse gas emissions starting now and a dramatic reduction in absolute emissions by 2050,James(2010).Moreover, whatever strategy we used to reduce transportation carbon dioxide emissions must not interfere with our equally urgent efforts to minimize any increase in the emissions and then to reduce those emissions.

Critical Review of Peter Dickens' Global Shift: Mapping The Changing Contours of the World Economy

- Critical Review of Peter Dickens' Global Shift: Mapping The Changing Contours of the World Economy When the term “Globalization” is discussed, most academics, scholars, professionals and intellectuals attempt to define and interpret it in a summarized fashion. My main concern with this approach is that one cannot and should not define a process that altered decades of history and continues to, in less than 30 words. Global Shift is a book with remarkable insight. Peter Dicken rather than attempting to define the commonly misused word, explains Globalization in a clear and logical fashion, which interconnects numerous views....   [tags: Peter Dickens Global Shift Analysis Review]

Security of a Shift Cipher Essay example

- Shift ciphers are the most basic form of cipher that can be used, the only problem is, they are not very secure ciphers. The only time a shift cipher can be secure, it is also perfectly secure. This “perfect security” only happens when a shift cipher is used on a single letter of plaintext and no more. If practicality is being considered, then this is not an efficient use of enciphering a message. It simply isn’t practical to send a single encrypted letter. In order to understand the insecure encryption of a shift cipher, it must first be understood how a shift cipher encrypts a message. The way a shift cipher works is that a letter in plaintext, is replaced by another letter from the alph...   [tags: type of substitution cipher, encryption]

Red Shift Essay

- Red Shift The fact that red shifts appear to be quantized has interesting implications for the study of the universe. This suggests that the red shift may be caused by something other than the expansion of the universe, at least in part. This could be a loss of energy of light rays as they travel, or a decrease in the speed of light through discrete levels. Maybe there is some other explanation. The following quotation concerning this phenomenon is from "Quantized Galaxy Red shifts" by William G....   [tags: Papers]
