Sexuality discrimination transpires to be one of the many forms of bullying. Various kids struggle each day because they are bullied due to their sexuality. Some people do not understand what bullying can do to a child or teenagers self-esteem. Do to bullying teenagers can develop anxiety, depression, and there could be many suicides. “Research led by Mark Hatzenbuehler showed that out of the 30,000 11th graders that he asked to take a poll there were 20 percent LGB (lesbian, gay, and bisexual) attempted suicide in the 12 months before the survey while only 4 percent of heterosexual teens had.” (Welsh) According to those statistics more LGB teenagers commit suicide as opposed to straight children. Some children are able to get over their depression or anxiety by having support from loved ones or even some therapy. Due to bullying because of their sexuality these things can occur depression, anxiety, and suicide.
In most cases children become depressed because they are being bullied due to their sexuality. Most time adults or even classmates are oblivious to the depression of their children or friends. Children try to conceal the fact that they are depressed because they do not want to be made fun of even more for seeking attention. By keeping all of their depression bottled up most children commits suicide or become shut themselves off from the world. For example one day my friend Matthew came over my house after school. I’ve known he has been bullied for a while now and when I see it happening I speak up for him but that day I was absent from school so when he came over he randomly started saying some very depressing stuff. Eventually he began to cry. He went on about how much it hurts him when he is bullied and how he wishes...

...lite declination if their sexuality doesn't match yours, not an attempt to ruin your life.” (Matthew, Terry) Unfortunately this is the way our society acts. People cannot love who they want or be accepted because of it. Bullies try to ruin children’s lives by making their selves feel better but in the end children can commit suicide. Bullies may not realize what they say can affect what the victim thinks. The bullies might just think it bullying someone could just be a good laugh but in reality children die because of this. The depression, anxiety, and suicide are all of the effects that can happen when children are bullied due to their sexuality.
