Sex and sexuality are trending topics either in the media or on social media. Growing up with a religious background a person is told not to have sex until they are married or it is a sin to be homosexual. Although, a person has the right to respectfully choose their sexuality. A person should not be judge based upon their decisions. Therefore, it is not morally wrong to be homosexual or engage in different sexual activities that a person desires with their mate or spouse. However, it is morally wrong to rape, spread a disease, pedophilia, or prostitute. When it comes to sex, people have different sexual standards. Learning about sex or sexuality can occur at home, church, school, or from peers. School was not an effective place for me to learn about sex because it did not teach in details, but it gave the basic knowledge of sex. I was exposed to sex and sexuality from peers at school. Also, it was discussed in my home and the church I attended. Although, I have my beliefs of what is right or wrong, I still have an open mind and respect other decisions. Sexuality and sex is shaped by other environment, beliefs, values, and expectations. Sexuality and sex are like is like nature verse nurture debate.

A History of Sexuality Essay

- Unlike sex, the history of sexuality is dependant upon society and limited by its language in order to be defined and understood.
