In life, we get the chance to create our own destiny. The way we view life and how we handle situations, controls the success of the relationships we create throughout our life time. Everyone has different principles, but in order to be effective we must learn to understand others. With these four important understandings, Coney teaches us lessons we should endure in order to become a great leader not just in your workplace, but also on a person level. To be proactive, think win-win, become synergistic and to sharpen the saw allows you to think about life in a different perspective and not making it only about yourself.
One of the four most important insights about the seven habits of highly effective people is to start to be proactive. We are responsible for how we choose to live our lives. We each select the path we want to walk in and are aware that for each action we take, there is a consequence whether its good or bad. To be proactive means to think and control any situation that arises in a positive matter instead of acting after the situation has already occurred. The word possible is inside the word impossible for a reason. That is, to give you the understanding that for every problem there is a solution, but you have the ultimate power of your effectiveness.
This is important because everything you do is mental. You are in control of your emotions. A couple of months ago, I got laid off from work. At first, I was very disappointed and I blamed my company for the reason I was unemployed. Then I realized that if this door closed, another door would open if I took action to find another job. I understood that everything happens for a reason, but not because life itself gives it to you. You are in full control of your emo...

... four dimensions that need to be balanced in your every day life; physical, spiritual, mental and social/emotion. These four dimensions make up the person you are and it is all in your power to keep yourself and those around you happy.
The seven habits of highly effective people teach us about personal change. Many times, we need guidance and unfortunately we do not have anyone to talk to about work and/or personal issues. This book changed my way of viewing life in a drastic matter. Over-all improving me to take a step back before making irrational decisions. To handle situations in a positive and respectful manner instead of acting defensive and only accept what I want and that’s all. These four major insights, renewed me entirely from inside out. To view life in an optimistic way where there is a solution to each setback we face at work or in your personal life.
