Law enforcement is the first piece of the criminal justice system, and in my opinion the most important. Law enforcement includes uniformed officers, investigators, and support personnel. They are responsible for finding then capturing individuals who break the laws set by local, state, and federal government. Law enforcement is at the forefront of the entire criminal justice system. They enforce the law, investigate crimes, prevent crime, and ensure public safety. Uniformed officers and detectives must appear in the court system to testify then prove the individual guilty of the crime he was arrested for.
Rehabilitation also involves programs in prisons that have the goal of helping offenders return back to society (Goff, 2014, p.20). If a person has been in an institution for a long period of time it is often hard to adjust to life outside, which is why these programs are important in the justice

A victim rights advocate anticipates numerous guarantees and safeguards from members within the criminal justice process to ensure to a victim's safety and prevent further victimization. To begin with probation and parole officers are required to ensure that offenders are adhering to the conditions of their supervision, which is essential to the rehabilitation process of the offender and the victim's piece of mind. Furthermore, once an offender has completed his or her sentence, victims want probation and parole officers to protect them from harassment and harm (Karmen, 2016). Additionally, when restitution is a condition of the offender's supervision then the probation or parole officer should provide the victim with regularly scheduled payments from the offender (Karmen, 2016). Also, as a victim rights advocate, I feel if the offender is not complying with conditions of their supervision, then the officer should revoke the offender's supervision. Since we are aware of the victim's expectations of probation and parole officers, let us examine corrections officials' roles pertaining to the victim's safety.
