Executive Summary
The reason of this information is to identify the security weakness in the Aircraft Solutions inter structure. Aircraft solutions is a known frontrunner in the design and manufacture of component for commercial, defense, and aerospace industry headquartered in San Diego, CA. I have found two security vulnerabilities in the organization, first there is software issue of not having a firewall between the Commercial Division and the internet world, which can be solved by installing a fire between CD and internet. Then there is the policy problem that the routers and firewalls be evaluated every two years, solution increase the evaluation periods.

Quite simply put, a firewall protects your computer from intrusion (scanning or attack) by hackers while it is connected to the Internet. A firewall examines electronic data coming in or out of a computer (or network) and compares it to the rules it has been given. If the data matches the rules, it’s allowed to pass. If it doesn 't, it is blocked (bullguard.com). I recommend that Aircraft solutions use the Cisco ASA 5585-X with SSP60. Cisco ASA firewalls protect networks of all shapes and sizes, with consistent security across hybrid infrastructures — physical, virtual, and cloud. These solutions combine the most deployed firewall in the industry with a full complement of next-generation network security services. They protect corporate networks while providing employees with secure access to data — anytime, anywhere, using any device (cisco.com). This Cisco firewall is robust enough to handle a big work load without bottlenecking the internet, intranet, or cloud use. Which will help the company maintain high customer satisfaction, and it is expandable for future growth of the company, it has a dual power supply in case of a disaster problem. The cost of this solution is high $224,500 is high, but the potential for expansion and ability to handle many internet inquiries. This purchase would make Aircraft Solutions a more attractive company with their company, and could be used a marketing boost, and word of mouth due to no delays in servicing customers access to the use of this
April 16th 1907, Joseph-Armand Bombardier, a Canadian inventor and entrepreneur was born. Bombardier grew up in the eastern Quebec village of Valcourt. The ambitious young bombardier wanted to come up with a solution to make it much easier to travel through the snow-covered roads. Through Bombardier’s earlier years, he started his own garage where he worked and honed his mechanical craft. In his spare time, Bombardier worked hard to create an automobile that could travel easily on snow.
The pros of an airline implementing a policy that bigger customers need to buy a second seat is that the weight capacity regulations will be followed to. As well as the cons of an airline implementing a policy that larger customers need to buy a second seat would result in a bigger people who travelling will not uses that airlines anymore, airlines would be glowered on by family or relatives of larger customers, airline’s policies could be vigorously monitored for discriminatory actions against overweight persons. As mentioned in the book there are no federal laws prohibiting discrimination against obese individual, although there are some places such as Wisconsin, DC, and California provide legal protection. (Harvey & Allard , 2012, p. 234)
Executive Summary A key factor in determining a project's viability is its cost of capital [WACC]. The estimation of Boeing's WACC must be consistent with the overall valuation approach and the definition of cash flows to be discounted. Note that this process is a forward-looking focus and is laden with uncertainty. It is how the assumptions are modeled that many costly mistakes can be made.
“Without change there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable.” William Pollard’s, a 20th century physicist, words show us the power of being proactive, and igniting change to strengthen a company’s productive climate (Sellers, Boone, Harper, 2011). Acme Airlines flight attendants lacked incentive to improve the quality of their work, as a result of distrustful management and overall frustration within the company. Acme took successful steps to rebuild their FA program into a more relationship oriented work environment. Through an understanding of effective leadership, we will use the
For years, Southwest Airlines has been experiencing stable costs, low fares and traffic stimulation. However, the latest changes in the marketplace (See Exhibit 1: SWOT Analysis), including the higher energy costs and the entrance of new low fare/cost carriers are threatening the future of the airline. As a result, LUV needs to decide whether or not to acquire the slots and gates from the bankrupt ATA Airlines at LaGuardia (LGA) terminal in New York City (NYC) in order to expand its capabilities.
This document will outline the policies and practices to be used and implemented in compliance with DoD specifications and standards for the contract of services to be provided to them. This report will consist of creating security controls based on auditing frameworks within the seven domains. Also to develop information assurance (IA) plan, a list of the requirements for each of the seven domains.
Boeing/Airbus Case Analysis Competition in the Commercial Aircraft Business. With only a few large companies across the globe (Boeing, MD, and Airbus), the commercial aircraft industry essentially exhibits the qualities of an oligopolistic competition with intense rivalry. Here is an analysis of competition in the commercial aircraft business using Porter’s Five Forces. Figure 1: Porter’s Five Forces Applied to Aircraft Industry. Barrier to entry: - High barriers to entry, to a certain extent, help understand the risks involved in operating in the aircraft industry.
A hardware firewall is used most often when multiple devices on a network need to be protected by a firewall. Hardware firewalls are a necessity if you need to have a centralized point for protection and easy management of the firewall. You can purchase hardware firewalls as just a physical device or as part of broadband router that already has the firewall built into it. Hardware firewalls can be some-what effective with very little, and sometimes no, effort on the users part in terms of actually configuring the device. Most hardware firewalls come already set with predefined rules on what is ok to pass through onto the network and what is not ok to pass through onto the network. Almost any computer user can plug in a hardware firewall, adjust a few settings and be on their merry way. But being how this device is made to protect your computer(s), your network, and possibly your assets, it would behoove you to learn the specific features of the firewall, what it allows and what it doesn’t allow, and how to enable and disable those features. Once you know how everything works you should test your firewall for optimal security and protection. Firewalls are not all created equally so it is important that your read all documentation that came with the device and go over the manual to get a full understanding of what exactly you have gotten yourself into. Your hardware firewall should always sit on the outermost portion of your logical network. This is known as the perimeter of ...
Air travel has grown in the past decade. Travel grew strongly for both leisure and business purposes. India will have nearly 800 to 1000 airplanes by 2023, it was estimated by Airbus. In spite of growth between 30 to 50 per cent in Indian aviation industry, losses of approximately 2200 crore is estimated for the current year.
ABSTRACT : This paper describes the basic threats to the network security and the basic issues of interest in designing a secure network. it describes the important aspects of network security. A secure network is one which is free of unauthorized entries and hackers. INTRODUCTION
Aviation security plays a vital role in the aviation industry, from protecting passengers, staff and aircraft. The aviation industry, more specifically airports and aircraft, make prime targets for malicious harm, crime, and other threats because of the vast amount of people that use air transportation. Although there are many risks that are posed to the aviation industry, we can only hope to have learned from the history of airport bombings, hijackings, and sabotage terrorist attacks. The aviation industry faces threats at each step of the journey, but assessing the risks properly will help deter and mitigate these threats. Conducting risk analysis in today’s aviation security is not only important to the aviation industry, but it is important
A firewall is a network device, hardware, software, or a combination of the two, whose purpose is to enforce a security policy across its connections. It is comparable to a wall that has a window where the wall serves to keep things out, except those permitted through the window. A security policy acts like the glass in the window; it permits some things to pass, light, while blocking others, air. The heart of a firewall is the security policy that it enforces.
Summary William Boeing founded the Boeing airplane company in the early 20th century. After strings of acquisitions and mergers, this company grew and became the largest global aerospace industry. Followed by previous reorganizations in the 1990s, this company decided to start its branding campaign in May 2001. This campaign consisted of lots of effort and structural changes for the first time in corporate history. The media was showing the initial success of this campaign just after its beginning.
Network management planning and security planning involves identifying the best and most appropriate systems and hardware that the firm can use to better manage network and plan security systems. Therefore, the management required me to examine the best software and hardware systems in the market place that the company can adopt to enable it to manage the network and security. The management required me to advice on the implementation procedure of various plans that are going to be adopted. My responsibility also involved finding out or predicting the impact of the plan on the future operations. They required me to evaluate the challenges the company might face while adopting the changes in the network management plan and security plans.
In the transition period from propeller aircraft to jet aircraft, manufactures faced numerous problems and challenges during the design and test period. New technologies and test criteria were used. Using new kinds of wings and high lift devices were one of the solutions they came up with. Utilizing new materials made high speeds possible. The jet airplane allowed more passengers to be transferred efficiently and safely making flying in reach of the general public.
