Why didn’t you save my family?”(221) Retell Grandma of Chanda told her the story when the rebels came to Tiro and attacked the city. They shouted and did things to adults. Soly and Iris were sleeping inside when the rebels came while others were sitting outside thinking if Chanda comes home safely. The Rebels found Iris and Soly in the back room and ordered them to be bound together. Grandpa thought they were the guest come for Chanda’s mom wedding. Granny begged them if she can go with them, but they dragged them away. They also killed Auntie Lizbet and attacked a number of families in the village. The rebels came to the city to kidnap any child, so they can use them as child soldiers; this was Mandiki’s job. After martyring Auntie Lizbet the group of children with Mandiki was marched off in the dark. Chanda’s was upset because her siblings were taken away from her. Soly and Iris were a part of her life and she couldn’t live, without them. She was mad at herself why she couldn’t save her siblings? If she went outside why did she go? If she didn’t, the rebels had not stolen her sibling. In her world, she only cared about them. If she did something in this world, she did it for them. Chanda’s always wanted Soly ad Iris to be happy and make her mom proud. She tries to give them the same love as her mother. In this situation, her brother and sister were not with her so, she missed them. She had courage to find them, and she knows she has to find them if not she can’t live her life. Therefore, she will do something to find her brother and sister. As show from her maybe she will sacrifice her life in search for her siblings. They thought she would listen as she did when she came to Tiro, but she knew she wouldn’t make this mistake one more time. After listening and coming to Tiro it had caused her problems. If that time she had listen to them she made a big mistake and lost two unique children’s in her life. Everyone gives the advice that is best for them, but not for others. They were telling her to go to wrong path one more time which could lose her courage. She made the right decision to go to prove all the people wrong and to show how much she cared about them. This is the face of true determined girl. She decided to go after her siblings and she did without anyone listening. Chanda showed her mother she did completed her responsibility with full heart.
